Because this endless hand wringing and back and forth whinging about each other and IE is pointless. The caravan moves on.

He was great for us, he's made history, he's gone, we are up. We thank him.

He's the Bolton Manager now.

I'm just bored with it tbh. There's so much to look forward to and sort out.

In my books he was going nowhere because of your word. I appreciate things change but it’s now being said he went to speak to Bolton (or was at Bolton) three weeks prior. Believe me this has legs.
Also he came off twitter months ago around the same time his wife started attending games.

So you have both got an ace to grind against Adam because he reported the news as it was at that time...? And then you say how things can change. And change they did. Hardly Adam’s fault. If there is more to the story of the current Bolton managers dealings then I agree, move it to General Football and you guys can discuss your conspiracy theories there till your hearts content.

So much positivity and things to look forward to at the club this petty stuff just dilutes it all.

We wish him well but time to move on. One final thing though. You need correcting. Evatt came off twitter during lockdown two weeks after football stopped.

Daily mail I’ll rest my case then. Fair play but the extreme silence from the club apart from the willy [SwearFilter] statement isn’t helping either. Allowing radio commentators and twitter alumni to make up your news isn’t great. You don’t know me or my relationship with Adam either. The fact I trusted his word in the first place speaks volumes. All I’m saying is once again here we are having a pop at barrow fans,Censoring the forum and Locking threads when last week we all had something to say on the matter. Once again we’re here arguing over the character of Ian evatt when we all know what has! And had! Been going on. and then we’re being told we’re doom mongering and should look on the bright side.
Prey tell I’m all ears. I know I know new lid and all that. But right now. (I’m aware we’re moving forward) we’re managerless, squadless and pretty much groundless.
Well done to all the volunteers though.

People seem to have the impression on here that because of my job I’m “in the know”
Majority of time I’ll find things out the same time as most on here, there may be the rare occasion that I get told things that I need to sit on or report on but it’s not very often.

The whole situation with Evatt all I could do was report from things I’d been told sadly things ended up different but I can’t be held for that.

If people want to throw pelters at me etc then I accept that - it’s part of the job. But never on any occasion have I “taken a guess” at any report I’ve done

Totally agree the current season hasn't finished yet. The BOD are actively seeking to appoint a new manager. No idea when we can start the new season yet if you believe some of the people on here "we're doomed I tell you doomed" :D :D :D
I am looking forward to the new season whenever it gets underway I'll be there, semper sursum :D
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

Really don’t think anyone thinks we are doomed at all; just more surprise when the board had one clear and obvious target that it’s someone with lets be honest, a bad managerial record (yes financial problems/whatever at Oldham etc etc but the record is there)

All this hot air is just symptomatic of a club that hasn't played any football for getting on for 5 months. There's been little in the way of facts to get our teeth into and despite the enormously positive achievement, circumstances have made it feel distinctly lacking in positivity. I hope and expect this interlude will end when we appoint a manager.

I'm not having too much difficulty getting over Ian Evatt, but that seems to be proving quite difficult for some. And I dont really understand the finger pointing going on. There may well have been circumstances in play that either prompted or hastened his departure but I'm happy to let history be the judge of that. What I am prepared to believe is that the circumstances of lockdown and curtailment have acted as a magnifying glass for some of these issues and have had some unforeseen effects that have changed outcomes. I'm also not sure I could have foreseen a club such as Bolton being pushed to the limit to pay what some would say was an outrageous sum of money to secure a manager who's entire previous repertoire of L2 games in charge amounts to 3. I've long since understood that "crazy" is very much the norm in football and that those in charge for some reason seem to approach it as they would when playing a poker game.

In this respect fate has been pretty even handed; it has delivered us a championship but deprived us of a manager. Whilst I wouldn't have sought the outcome, neither do I feel betrayed by it.

I'm not sure that Bolton under the new owners are as skint as many of us thought, SB. They seem to think they already have a deal for Doyle the top scorer in the division with Swindon last season and also believe they are about to sign Sarcevic one of the outstanding players for Plymouth both players who could have played a division higher this season!

I cant be anything else but optimistic, ok IE has moved on, people do that in life, it doesn't make us a bad team overnight.
Whoever takes over the reins at Holker street will inherit a team full of confidence, that know how to play attractive, expansive football, and a loyal fan base starved of this level of football for 48 years, plus a board that will back him to the hilt, now as a new manager coming in, I'd class that as hitting the ground running, whats not to like.

I must have missed the part when we released our whole squad and moved out of Holker St.

And i'm not sure why I was up at our groundless (or pretty much groundless whatever that means) ground on Sunday either

We’re on the verge of a new manager

Have a Fantastic core of a squad

Amazing developments going on around the ground

A board that’s are working tirelessly behind the scenes and have done brilliant for the club in their short tenure

Get your head out of your arse

Its not really about whether Bolton (or lets be realistic) somebody who's an investor in Bolton can stump up the cash. We live in an era where somebody can usually stump up the cash irrespective of the true financial state of their club...until of course they wont or cant and that club goes pop or as in the case of Wigan gets shelved under "no longer considered viable at this time". There is no such thing as wealthy football clubs only wealthy individuals who choose to invest in them.

When I said "crazy" it was a simple suggestion based on the reality of a League Two football club committing that amount of money for what is ostensibly a non-league management team. Assuming a compensation fee of around say £200k and three year contracts for the management team which with pension contributions could easily amount to £150k per annum, that is a £650k commitment on your management team before you've actually spent a penny on the squad. If you put that scenario to say a German football official, he'd have you sectioned for even contemplating such a thing at such a low level.

The fact that Bolton is under a transfer embargo at the same time (which of course does not affect the amount of money they can waste on management) just makes the whole thing even more bizarre. And if I take your suggestion that both Doyle and Sarcevic are headed to the Macron, then they in turn will probably account for somewhere between a quarter and a third of Boltons entire allowed budget under embargo for next season. Which may still be a great investment unless either of both of them get a long term injury when the new season starts. But hell thats just a risk.

The older I get Russ the less I understand. I fear an approaching apocalypse for the EFL in particular.
