THE NORTHERN WAY
Re: New Signings Rumours
First interview nerves I expect.
His interview on radio Cumbria on Friday was much better and left me excited for whats to come, if the board are confident in him, then so am I.

Certainly hope that's not true. Currently playing for his 14th club at the age of 30! Exactly the sort of player we should not be trying to sign!!

Not contacting his agent would be a good first step I think.

Re: New Signings Rumours
John paul kissock is definitely not the sort of player assistant we should be looking at can't see it being true we will be aiming alot higher than him
Re: New Signings Rumours
I thought John Rooney as player of the year was very fair. Imagine if we voted for someone as bad as Corbyn
Just say no to VAR

Yes you mean a blonde idiot who oversaw 60 000 deaths and said people who wear face covering look like letter boxes.
But then he has never worn protection

His children will attest to that.
How does it make you feel to know that you voted for this?

Re: New Signings Rumours
Josh lillis released from Rochdale and Mark Howard released by Blackpool both northwest based experienced goalkeepers worth a look at as free agents and sean scannell released by Blackpool a winger with lots of league experience Hope akpan a midfielder from Bradford kelvin Mellor defender from Bradford all worth a look at Nathan knight percival defender released from Carlisle very experienced James Vaughan would be excellent striker at this level but I think he is under contract and would want big money also omar bogle is a free agent not sure he would drop into league 2 plus probably want big money

Of those names, Akpan is worth a phone call.Walneywanderer1979 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 3:03 pm Josh lillis released from Rochdale and Mark Howard released by Blackpool both northwest based experienced goalkeepers worth a look at as free agents and sean scannell released by Blackpool a winger with lots of league experience Hope akpan a midfielder from Bradford kelvin Mellor defender from Bradford all worth a look at

From listening to his interviews of his first managerial experience with Oldham it was very much a case of one of the lads one day, manager of them the next and I think he may have struggled with that. Those were my initial reservations at first, that he may have been too close to the playing side and didn't really want it., but Im looking at it differently now he is here, It 5 years ago now, plenty of experience later with Oldham and Blackpool and hopefully fully set on his management style and goals. He is also inheriting the core of a successful Championship winning side who I am certain can step up. Its there to develop now so a totally different scenario.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 5:58 am
Just because in your opinion he didn't sound it, that doesn't mean he isn't.
I've come across loads of people who are brilliant at there jobs and don't come across as confident and plenty of bullsshitters that come across confident and fail.

Point taken it is merely my first impression.Remember him as player but they also don’t always make good managers sometimes still want to be one of the lads too nice to be objective..He will as everyone does make mistakes and it’s when pressure on he will need good back up.Nothing will give me pleasure more than to be proved wrong.
New signings initially have to be his management team. Lets see who he brings in there.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Re: New Signings Rumours
Just watched Sorba Thomas, a player I'd love Barrow to sign, who I picked out when we played away against Boreham Wood and has just been player of the match as they beat Halifax 2-1 much more comfortably than the score suggests. No chance if they join us in Division 2, of course.
Re: New Signings Rumours
Said the same in another thread. He was very good. Also like Tyrone Marsh, whose always been fairly decent at the top end of the NL. Boreham Wood played some good football and could easily win the play-offs.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 9:02 pm Just watched Sorba Thomas, a player I'd love Barrow to sign, who I picked out when we played away against Boreham Wood and has just been player of the match as they beat Halifax 2-1
