Currently we have 11 players on contract plus up to 2 more possibles (Brown and Hindle) and we'll need at least 20 so your up to 8 would seem to be around the right number. Certainly hope you're right about Platt.

it's not just about the 1st 11 - it's about the squad - and has he has played at League 1 level the step up shouldn't be an issue either.
