Re: New Signings Rumours
He had one exceptional season, sad he has gone but no.point in crying over it.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 4:12 pmAmazing the number of people who thought Rooney was the bees knees when he was here now think he's nothing special. Even more amazing that such an average player won Player of the Season awards, best player in the National League award as well as being in the National League team of the season and also scored arounbg 20 goals from midfield as well as being the team's captain, playmaker, free kick specialist and penalty taker. Hopefully we'll get a few more "nothing special" players!mightywhite wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 3:11 pm
This is the most sense I’ve read on this forum in months and it’s from a Carlisle fan..thanks for the contribution. I think he is exactly what we need.

He was brilliant for us last year, but let’s not get carried away...one great season in 12 years doesn’t make him indispensable.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 4:12 pmAmazing the number of people who thought Rooney was the bees knees when he was here now think he's nothing special. 'So drink some today...'
I was thinking of using that for a quip but I thought no one would know the reference!
Maybe they will have DD in the new Fanzone?

Looks are real unit Jones and the comments from people on here who have watched the guy are very encouraging to say the least.

I don't want to take this too far off topic BUT I'll see your DD and raise it with Red Barrel.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:07 amSome of those keg 'beers' were bad, really bad. Double Diamond was bloody awful.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 8:27 am

Richie Smallwood is on his way out at Blackburn, he was awesome in their L1 promotion campaign, not played for the whole of last season not good enough for the Championship though, let’s be ambitious, and hopefully someone from inside the club is reading this

Re: New Signings Rumours
We desperately need to get some centre halves through the door, Platt naturally at the top of the shopping list.
I think Taylor's days are numbered a bloke who gives a 100% but his legs are slowing and technically not good enough for that level now imo. The signing of two defensive midfielders indicate to me he wont be playing much next year. For me if he was to leave and we were able to bring white back that would be a good centre midfield with jones and white hardcastle playing in the advanced role. Beadling looks a handy squad player.
Luke james and angus are very similar for me, good movement, quick not natural goalscorers but will make the space for quigley to put the ball in the back of the net as long as we can keep hold of him, a lot of rumours of a bid from northampton town in the region of 150k that will test the boards resolve, for me he's the one we can't let go this season.

...and I'll nip across to the gutter, mix a Toby Light with Bass Mild, not get Stones and maybe develop a Brew Ten.Nigel Bamford wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:24 amI don't want to take this too far off topic BUT I'll see your DD and raise it with Red Barrel.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:07 am

So Quigleys signed for Stockport and Northampton this week........

Beadling will probably be part of the back 3 if we stick with 5-3-2.the ray wilkie stand wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:52 am We desperately need to get some centre halves through the door, Platt naturally at the top of the shopping list.

James and Angus either side of Quigley would certainly pose a lot of threats if we were chasing the game - Angus had one of his best performances (that I saw) last season coming on against Fylde and cutting in from the left.
Re: New Signings Rumours
There will always be rumours esp our best players but 150k for the top goal scorer, still on 2 year deal, plus who would you get in place to possibly be our top goal scorer again this season? The BOD would be mad to let this one be true....HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 12:25 pm So Quigleys signed for Stockport and Northampton this week........
