I think the Bodyline shirt you have as 1999/2000 should be 2000/2001, as this was the first one that was picked by Brian Keen and Co, but I could be wrong, did Brian Keen not take over half way through the 1999/ 2000 season, if so then that bodyline shirt should be 2000/2001 season.

I have just checked and I owe you an apology, the kit I thought was 2000/2001 was incorrect the shirt Manufactured by Bodyline was indeed for 1999/2000.

Some more help, please to try to resolve some remaining issues.

Two posts follow, relating to queries pre-1960 and thereafter. I think we may be coming up against a brick wall with the former but you never know what may be lurking in someone's scrapbook or drawer. I would hope that we may be able to fill one or two more of the post-1960 gaps/queries.

Pre-1960 there is a fairly surprising degree of evidence of the kits Barrow have worn although there remain areas where reasonable assumptions may have had to have been made. There are some gaps and queries that remain. Some may never be resolved but there is always hope.

Can you help in any way, please, to resolve the following, if possible with evidence from a contemporary article or photograph:

1902-8 – Seems likely to have been black and white stripes, black shorts, black socks but we have no evidence of that or the design detail.
1909-10 – Was this the year that blue first appeared on the Barrow kit?
1910-11 – A photo shows Barrow in stripes of a light colour (but clearly not white) and a dark colour. What could they have been?
1913-20 – Likely that football was suspended for seasons 1914-19. What did Barrow wear in 1913-14 and 1919-20?
1927- 31 – No information for these seasons – likely blue/white/blue but no confirmation and what details?
1938-40 and 1945-6 – Again, confirmation/evidence neeed, perhaps with the big white V on the shirt.
[1940-45 – Barrow did not compete in the war leagues; Barrow ‘A’, mainly with locals, played in the local wartime leagues]
1948-9 – Again a variation on blue/white/blue, but what?
1951-2 – And again

Post-1960, we come in to greater likelihood of people having cuttings, photos and the beginnings of more publications that have helped. There are still some gaps and queries that you may be able to help with, please.

1973-4 - White/blue/white seems likely but what details?
1978-9 – Was this the year that the white shirt returned to blue? Shorts? Socks? Details?
1980-81 – A variation on blue/white (or blue?)/white? Details?
1982-3 – Have we gone back to white/blue/white yet? Details?
1984-5 – A variation on white/blue/white (or blue?)? Royal blue or navy? Details?
1986-7 – No idea? Shade of blue?
1994-5 - Shorts/socks detail? Socks colour?
2000-1 - Shorts/socks detail?
2002-3 - Shorts/socks detail?
2003-4 - Shorts/socks detail?
2004-5 - Shorts/socks detail?
