Blackpool v Barrow (friendly)
Re: Blackpool v Barrow (friendly)
Didnt see any of it. For those who did-
- Any indication as to how we are going to set up
- Did we hold our own out there
- any significant way we played, did we look to play it out from Dixon, any long throws, punts into the box.
- are we looking in good shape.

Re: Blackpool v Barrow (friendly)
Dixon okayed it out a fair bit. We looked slow and sluggish (to be expected after this long) we played some good stuff created a few chances. Blackpool presses hard once we got it into midfield so we didn’t get chance to play as much as we normally do, due to a lack of match sharpness. Blackpool looked a good side to me with plenty of pace and size. A decent fitness exercise and a chance to look at players really. Re: Blackpool v Barrow (friendly)
We’ve been back in training around 2 weeks and played 2 games
Blackpool have been back around a month and today was their 4th fixture - they were always going to look fitter.
Good workout and looked ok I thought in patches

Re: Blackpool v Barrow (friendly)
I was delighted to see that we tried to play exactly the same way as when I saw Barrow last season. Blackpool shaded the match and created more chances but I thought it was a promising display against a League 1 side. Dixon mixed short passes with longer kicks when they pressed up on our defenders. No long throws at all and no long punts into the box. Played 3 at the back and wing backs in both halves with 2 different teams. Quigley played the first half and Angus and James in the second half so didn't see the best combination of strikers i.e. Quigley with one of the other 2.Jonty wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 5:41 pm Didnt see any of it. Thanks for the summaries, DD certainly thinking ahead to the Quigley suspension with the Luke James /Dior Angus link up. I would be 100% happy with those two starting. All first teamers imo and all have different strengths.
All about getting game time into legs after a long lay off and sounds encouraging. They’ll be absolutely chomping at the bit for the opening day.
Did Jack Hindle feature at all? I really rate him and hope he can earn a contract.

Good luck Matty you deserve your chance at a big Club.
Re: Blackpool v Barrow (friendly)
Was most impressed by Younger. Looked composed on the ball with an old head on young shoulders.Played at the back but think he could be utilised in midfield.Overall a solid display with superior Blackpool fitness the main difference.

Is Will McGladdery originally from Barrow? Son of Mark McGladdery?

Thought he had already signed for Barrow.
If so, did Barrow get a fee for him?

Yes, been at Blackpool for a number of years in the youth teams and recently released so probably known to Dunn. Still only young and it’d be good to see local talent given a chance to go full time and try to work their way into the squad.AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 9:33 pm Is Will McGladdery originally from Barrow?
