Paying To Watch For The First Time In Nine Years

Post by Reg » Fri Sep 11, 2020 9:00 pm

I can't remember the exact last time I paid to watch a Barrow game.

I think it was the midweek home game after Dave Bayliss called fans [SwearFilter] on RC and offered to fight them all.

I've watched live TV games since then of course but not with any real investment in the result.

I'll be streaming tomorrow's match, mostly to help out financially more than because I have a rejuvenated interest in lower league football (or any football in general).

Asking lower league clubs to compete when they're not allowed fans in the ground seems silly to me. Starting the season knowing there is a fair chance that COVID will cause disruption also doesn't make much sense to me either but it is what it is and I hope Barrow and other lower league clubs aren't condemned to financial oblivion by being forced to play in front of empty stands.

I hope you all enjoy the season as much as you can given the extremely unusual circumstances under which it will be played.

Absolutely over the moon to read you’ll be watching us tomorrow, Reg.

I’ve experienced some delusions of grandeur recently from the club, so it’s a breath of fresh air to know that someone, who was a regular back in the less successful days, will be providing their support.

Enjoy!

No idea what you mean by that bud but I'm glad to have cheered your day up :)

Not sure I'll enjoy it. I have a hard time enjoying football these days but it would be a shame to see all the hard work put in to get the club back in the league go to waste so I'll buy every stream, even if it's only Dawn that watches them.

I wouldn't say I'm back.

More than probably just passing through.

This does not constitute a return.

In normal times, I'd definitely have done Morecambe home and away but not likely to have attended much more than that.

Loving the old not even arsed approach, you want to get on the old terrace again, I can tell.
