I just don't have passion for sport much any more.

I love watching snooker and I still enjoy seeing Liverpool do well but as much because of how much it triggers other fans as much as anything else and I was of course please to see Barrow get promoted.

However, the days of my taking pleasure and somehow basking in the reflected glory of the achievements of others are long gone I think.

I used to be mega passionate about sport but I'm just not anymore and the only time I take more than a passing interest is if I have had a bet on an outcome of a sporting event.

I stopped going for 5 years and only went back a couple of times last year because the kids asked me to take them - I enjoyed it and got some of the passion back (thwarted by COVID quite quickly)

I have some spark back and will be attending when possible but I can understand how you get to the point of disinterest after being out of the ‘bubble’ for a while

My only worry is that the more regulated ‘sanitised’ rules of the EFL (and in short term COVID ) will make the experience less enjoyable - I’ve always said the day’s of trips to Marine/Emley/Bishop Auckland/Bamber bridge were the most enjoyable ones I had as a fan - shiny stadiums don’t interest me as much really

I loved going to the types of places you mentioned. Some of the magic was lost for me when they got back into the conference under Bayliss and Sheridan then it got messy in a lot of ways and I quickly lost any love for the club and to a lesser extent, the game.

I had told myself I'd start watching Dalton Utd or Crookies but I prefer to stay in the warm now, watch racing on TV and stream Premier League games if I want a football fix on a Saturday afternoon.

I genuinely wish the club well and I am delighted for the many people I like who took huge pleasure from the promotion but outside of cherry picking a few games every season, I won't be changing my current arrangements.
