Fans Returning to Stadiums
Re: Fans Returning to Stadiums
I'd be perfectly happy for the club to keep the money.
Re: Fans Returning to Stadiums
I bought my season ticket to help the club remain in business. So the club can keep my money.

Re: Fans Returning to Stadiums
Agreed, as great as it is we are a league club again, I just cant get excited about watching games in empty stadiums and didn't even bother with Saturdays game, I'll contribute to raffles etc and buy kids shirts etc, just hope many like me get the enthusiasm back when this is all overbarrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 11:36 am We're probably fine this season the added EFL money you get, lower running costs compared to other clubs and an active trust.
Although long term damage to football as a whole could be huge without Government support.
First games back in football league you'd have hoped for 4k crowds and hoped some of those became regulars. Who knows what support we'll get when this is over.
I don't enjoy watching football to empty stadiums and I've been bored watching us the last 2 games so I'll donate to club directly and find other things to do on Saturdays going forward.
STH so club already have my gate money for the season whatever happens.

Time for the FA to make a fairer distribution of money down from the Premier league to all the lower divisions. This is long overdue.

Re: Fans Returning to Stadiums
The FA can't make the Premier League do anything. The Premier League has all the money and, therefore, all of the power. The FA has to keep on the right side of the Premier League just to keep the amount of money already passed down. The only hope of more money is to appeal to the Premier League's better instincts which isn't very hopeful!conquistador wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 1:00 pm Time for the FA to make a fairer distribution of money down from the Premier league to all the lower divisions. Re: Fans Returning to Stadiums
The thing that stands out and worries me about today's new stricter rules is that the same rules have been in place in some of the local higher infection areas like Bolton and Leicester for some time but have been very slow in bringing infection rates down if at all. These new measures are going to be like putting the brakes on a train and the chances of them being in place for six months is quite possible especially if people defy in numbers... I think the chances of no crowds for the whole of the season have gone up unfortunately.
The slim pickings of positive news from yesterday's "science" (no Bodgit Johnson?) announcement of the progress with vaccine development by the turn of the year is unrealistic, I'm being told by very senior ex colleagues, with most still hoping for one within a year.

I didn't get a season ticket as could not afford it but I will continue to support the club as much as I can; I think a lot of peoples mental health is affected by this, personally I like to have something to look forward to and for the past 30 odd years that's been going to the football, lets hope we get back to it at some point. I think some clubs will be in a lot worse position than ourselves.

To be honest, I think that the only hope of ever getting back to some sort of normality is a vaccine. Until that happens, I cannot see any way we can get away from this stop and start other than going back into lockdown which would be an even greater economic disaster than the current state.Sefton Aubergine wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 2:16 pm The thing that stands out and worries me about today's new stricter rules is that the same rules have been in place in some of the local higher infection areas like Bolton and Leicester for some time but have been very slow in bringing infection rates down if at all. Agree that our season tickets are vital support for the club and I am also more than happy to treat the money as an contribution, with the added bonus of being able to watch home games via iFollow once I get it working properly!

A speedy, fully working track and trace would have and could make some difference but agree that a vaccine is the only way of stopping the infection rates and threat of lock downs.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 3:10 pmTo be honest, I think that the only hope of ever getting back to some sort of normality is a vaccine. Boris Johnson is on ITV at 8:05 this evening. Tough act to follow.
