Perhaps when John Sheridan was at the Latics which would suggest this would've been during the Daz and Dave era?

Someone put me out of my quandary.
Played in an FA Trophy game. Last season or season before at wing back. Ended up signing for Bradford shortly after i.i.r.c.

There’s some excellent strikers in the National league , go and get one and give him the chance to play league football, our forward options is absolutely pathetic. Was Dunne a forward or what, clueless!!
Dunn was a midfielder.
This signing is not at the expense of signing a forward! Christ, how often does that need to be said?

I thought the same; on loan and he was a winger? Must have been a different Chris Taylor was it, no reference to it in the article about him signing

Taylor had a loan spell with us as a teenager in the 2005-2006 season before he broke into the Oldham first team squad.

No, it's the same one. Under Turnbull I think it was, the season that he got sacked and was replaced by Wilson.

Reviews from fans of Quigley and Rooney's previous clubs were closer to 100% negative when we signed them. They mean [SwearFilter] all.

EDIT: Posted at the same time as the one above - a pretty conclusive argument it seems.

Spot on ! According to Wrexham fans Rooney would down tools after Christmas whilst Quigs would spend more time on the treatment table than the field.

Many managers including IE do not like normally to sign up free agent players. Much prefer loan players who are already up to speed in match fitness.
Where a free agent ie with no club takes 3 to 4 plus weeks to get fully match fit having not played since may/june.
Still drawing full money of course.
