Kay heads in at the end and we're mid-table.

We're about as bad as we were five games in last season. To say we're the worst in this league isn't just wrong, it's [SwearFilter] stupid.

And how is Luke James getting criticism from some, yet those same people are saying nothing about Angus' non-contribution to the season. Barry was woeful today too - the 'old' players have been equally as bad as the new.

Finally some perspective. Standard negative Barrow fans nonsense..everyone spouts s£&£ about how the want a manager to speak positively and then come out with the nonsense on here.

Well one thing is for sure, nothing Dunn can say will please the most vocal fans, so he's on a hiding to nothing. And if he doesn't say anything, well they still moan.

And how's Evatt doing? Fans say he's their worst manager ever and his signings are dreadful.

I think we've been crap this season, but also we're not getting outplayed or overrun. A few players buck their ideas up, a couple of key players return and it's a totally different story.

The difference is that James Jones is a young player with pace who is on an upward path as Zouma could be. Sadly, most of the players who have been brought in are older players who are old, slow and on the way down the football spiral. However, it may be that it is just that these are the only type of players we can now afford. I would much rather have seen efforts to recruit more of the James Jones type from the National League or NL North where there are many good young players on an upward path and who should be affordable.

IF I said those words then it would have been out of total frustration at losing the best player in the National League and the fact that I watch every match would have made it patently obvious to anybody with a grain of intelligence that I had plenty of interest in the club!

I appreciate what Dunn is saying about it being hard to attract players to Barrow, but that's his job. He needs to believe in the club and sell it. There's a lot to offer, we're a well run club with ambition and can offer a stable income when others might not have that luxury. It's a great time to attract good players to Barrow.

That's two of the classic desperation quotes attributed to Dunn in the space of a few minutes "Having to be more ruthless" and "Difficult to attract players". These are not great signs and are both poor excuses and reflect self-doubt. Not good.

Was the "difficult to attract players" not attributed to wages?

I've watched every Barrow match this season including all friendlies which were broadcast and Rooney was voted the best player in the National League last season.

Absolutely correct. I’ve said it before but too many people got carried away with predictions for this season, it was NEVER going to be easy. Waiting for 48 years to get back into the EFL and thinking we could challenge for play-offs was utter madness. Stay up and build on that, that had to be the sensible aim surely.

I don't think we should press the panic button just yet. Last season in the national league if Rooney, quigs and platt were missing we would have been in trouble. Well all three have been missing a good chunk and we've held our own in every game we've played and not got walloped. I think a couple of incomings and a few outgoings mixed with injured players coming back we won't be far off not a bad league 2 side.

I'm not interested in his career before he came to Barrow. I saw him enough times with my own eyes. He was absolutely brilliant last season.
