I predict a riot
From the Bolton paper, what utter @@@@
WANDERERS have received warning from police in Barrow of potential trouble before their League Two clash tomorrow night.
A letter was received by Bolton secretary, Simon Marland, from the local constabulary urging the club to be aware of planned crowd gatherings outside Holker Street.
The game sees the return of Ian Evatt, who quit Barrow in the summer to join Wanderers just weeks after the Cumbrian club’s promotion to the Football League was confirmed.
Speaking to The Bolton News, Evatt said he was “disappointed” by the news but that he had no ill-feeling towards the club he helped to reinvent over the course of two seasons.
No one is bothered he would have been booed by some and maybe a odd naughty chant but would not be violence, this kind of reporting just puts flame to a fire when there is no fire, Barrow police now need to explain where this has stem from.

Re: I predict a riot
Why would I not when this kind of article is in a Bolton newspaper ? Better for the police to turn up with out this which causes problems.

Would be moronic if it did happen; fans should be thanking him for what he did for us, not this crap. Hopefully just Bolton’s version of the Mail being as useless as they are

That would assume that Cumbria Plod were capable of gathering intelligence.
Intelligence and Cumbria,s finest are simply words you don't use in the same sentence

Re: I predict a riot
Hopefully anyone turning up will be fined £200 for breach of COVID restrictions that might then think again

I doubt there is much in this so called intelligence, and it's unhelpful at best. But the fact any Barrow supporter has anything but good wishes for him is ridiculous. The bloke made what many of us considered an impossible dream come true, regardless of how he (allegedly) conducted himself in his personal life.

Absolute nonsense. Embarrassing, both from the Bolton News and IE highlighting it. He's got 10 yards to walk from the bus.
Don't fall into the customary trap of assuming the worst of our own here.

Load of [SwearFilter]. Probably just Barrow police trying to nab some overtime.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.
