Barrow v Walsall match thread

Lots of positives to come out of yesterday’s performance in an exciting end to end game at Holker Street, some of the football we played was excellent and should have beaten a good Walsall side by at two clear goals. Their goalkeeper pulled off two fantastic saves in the first half to keep his side in the game and at the death Turner should have wrapped it up with a close range header from three yards out. Still a very solid performance. Unfortunately not all the Barrow supporters felt the same, obviously people are entitled to there opinion of this game but how people can say on this blog that the football was the ‘Same old crap’ after yesterday game beggars belief.
I was very fortunate to watch the game from the stand yesterday as a representative of the Bluebirds Trust. My son originally won the prize but very kindly gave it to me, l’ve supported the club for fifty-eight years and was beginning to think my chances of watching a live match in the football league again were fast running out, so it was a an amazing surprise and a very special occasion for me personally to be told that l could go to the game. A wonderful gesture by one of my incredible sons.

66 years since I attended my first game, an FA Cup tie against Swansea and I fully endorse your comments.
The team are progressively getting better.
To many people expected to much after the season we experienced last year.
Promoted teams normally have lots of momentum but the early curtailment, loss of manager and a star player not wanting to play in the football league ended all that.
Not only Barrow are struggling to come to terms with the situation.
Many of the bookmakers fancied teams are also struggling.
Great gesture from your son.
Glad you got the opportunity of seeing the game live.
Hopefully the rest of us will before the season ends.

Taylor not Turner could have wrapped it up at the death just after coming on. Couldn't get enough on the header.

Thought it was a good flowing game again, just don't know how to finish teams off, Barrow had so many chances again especially the one missed by Biggins, never thought I would see Bobby Madeley refereeing at Holker Street, thought he had a good game as well. As a few above mention how long they have followed Barrow my first game was in 1950's never thought I would see them in the league again, hope the crowds are allowed in soon.

Just watched david dunn's interview after the match , he seemed really upbeat for his team , which is more than I can say for the interviewer .
He is like a wet lettuce , every question is , we were brilliant today david , we nearly won that one , for his sake grow some balls .
Ask how the injuries to our players are , do you think subs should of come on earlier , what about Kay's stupid tackles on the edge of the box in consecutive matches .
Why so many back passes when in good attacking positions

The interviewer is employed by the club so apart from injuries to players he is hardly likely to ask any of the other questions you posed. AJ on Radio cumbria might but would no doubt ask them in a more diplomatic way and not as blunt as you put them. For the record AJ is excellent when interviewing DD IMO.

I went to watch local amateur football on Saturday rather than watch our game on ifollow. Does that make me a “Plastic”?

Taylor not Turner could have wrapped it up at the death just after coming on. Couldn't get enough on the header.

Got a litter nudge in the back just before he headed it which slightly unbalanced him which probably didn't help.
