Radio Carlisle

Post by kenny lowe fan club » Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:56 pm

I know Carlisle won tonight but Radio Cumbria seen to give about 70-30 percent coverage to Carlisle United talk. Barrow are an afterthought. I realise they gave good coverage to us as a non-league team but whats the excuse now? It should be 50/50. Id love to get to League one and see how they play that one (not this season). Oh and still no FM coverage for barrow when Both teams play. Come on guys, its Radio Cumbria not Radio Carlisle.

Carlisle are on FM
We are on AM & Freeview channel 721

Cumbria is going on DAB Radio in the new year and they’ll be looking at it all again then

Oh dear this old chestnut again. We still get and have always had excellent coverage from Radio Cumbria and IMO nothing has changed this season. Carlisle beat top of the league Newport comprehensively and have now moved up into the play off positions. Quite right the station should focus on them more last night after we lost 1.0

Most People, proudly:
'Barrow is in Lancashire'

Also most people, now crying:
'Radio Cumbria don't give us any coverage'

:)

They are doing well so far this season, but what’s the story financially? Isn’t their main money man to do with Edinburgh wooden mill who I thought were going bust? Time will tell what affect that will have.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Barrow is in Cumbria.
Carlisle is in Scotland, (well it may as well be).
Carlisle would be better off playing in the Scottish League.

If Carlisle is in Scotland then its logical to think Barrow is in Lancashire. Anyway when it all changed in 1974 ( I think) it was said the changes are all for administrative purposes and that the natural historical counties can remain. Therefore we are Lancastrians and Carlisle is in Cumberland. Sorted.

Or are we sorted andyg?

There are plans afoot for yet another change as we could become Morecambe Bay Watchers. Like last time we won't get a vote and there won't be a shot fired in anger. The only notable differences being it will be mandatory to walk round in revealing red swimwear and we might not get the fantastic radio coverage we currently enjoy. https://www.nwemail.co.uk/news/18832615 ... ep-closer/
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Spot on. Cumbria is an administrative area. It is not a county.

I see Barrow council is to vote on the proposal on November, 5th. I hope you're not planning anything, er, explosive in the cellars of the Town Hall, Wintergreen.

So does this mean we are not Cumbrians anymore? We can pretend we are Lancastrians again? Questions questions

My postcode is LA not CA or C.
Early documents are stating Barrow in Furness,Lancashire.
But the fact we are in Radio sheep dip area means we have a better chance of being on the wireless ,now known as a radio.
Another reason I think my BBC license fee is worth it,before anyone chips in I know you do not need a license for radio but its funded by that.
