So let me get this right
People are complaining about the “lack of coverage” from a radio station that brings full uninterrupted commentary of every game home and away for a club that you all think isn’t in their county so perhaps they shouldn’t?

It's not full uninterrupted commentary though is it it Adam. Goodie has to say "something" every minute and I get a headache

Do you really think that? I beg to differ. If a Barrow game was called off it should have been replaced by a Barrow game, not a Carlisle one. This is the sort of (non) planning that gets Radio Cumbria a bad name.

However I do agree that we get brilliant coverage from Radio Cumbria and much better than we would from Lancashire, and long may it continue.

To be fair it was called off on the Friday so doesn’t leave much time to work through the archives and edit something together. A lot of the Carlisle stuff is already edited as Carlisles YouTube channel use the BBC radio Cumbria coverage on there.

The BBC like every other organisation has had to start making cutbacks and it makes you wonder how long a dedicated reporter and co- commentator will be sent to all of Barrow's home and away matches. A lot of southern based BBC stations use northern based commentators to cover their northern games. It's so much cheaper than paying the travel and accommodation costs that they'd incur by sending their own reporter.

That is a really good point particularly in terms of having Adam doing the commentary who is a supporter anyway and lives in this neck of the woods. as opposed to someone whose natural affinity is to Carlisle or wherever.
I know we have had some good commentators in the past from out of town but, by the same token some bloody terrible ones as well-who can forget that rugby league tosser of a commentator of a good few years ago who didn't want to travel down here to do a game at Holker Street at short notice. I know it was a bad game but, by Christ he certainly let the listeners know that he didn't want to be here.
Good riddance to him whoever he was and the rest of em.
