Barrow v Oldham match thread
Re: Barrow v Oldham match thread
Will there be 2 worse teams than us?
It’s a results business. When we play well we draw.
Just 2 points above the drop zone now and everyone else down there is picking points up.
No game management - we looked like a very poor side tonight.

Still lots of time to go and there will be two worse teams than us

Sack Dunn and send some of the shite hes signed to the scrapheap.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Barry is a quality wing-back. Kay is inconsistent but always an attacking threat.
Brown isn't a wing-back.

Re: Barrow v Oldham match thread
the problem is Dunn's brought players in to play his way without any thought that this might not be the way in this league his inexperience is now showing, the board should get rid now because the players need better coaching/ideas
Re: Barrow v Oldham match thread
Back four for me tighten that defence that's the issue, giving away silly goals. We shouldn't be scoring 3 goals and losing a game. The last 3 or four games have been good to watch, we weren't anywhere near our best tonight and still hit the back of the net 3 times.

It's always the easy option, blame the manager blah blah. But the players individually have to seriously look at themselves tonight and think, did I give enough for the club that pays my wages for a whole season, regardless of the effort I put in and how much I really care. A million people out of work and I bet they will be thinking, I wish I was a professional footballer. Be crap at my job and still get paid !

Not time to man the lifeboats yet, we not yet seen an iceberg, get a grip I agree it was not a great display but we have proven we can play football
still early days and still time to pull things together, if we are still in this position in January then I might put a lifebelt on.

Re: Barrow v Oldham match thread
Zouma just looked completely at sea tonight. Passing was awful, the penalty, a few decent tackles but usually because his poor passes or touches put us there in the first place. Agree that Platty is head and shoulders above the other centre backs in the side at the minute and is contributing goals too.
From the angle on ifollow, I think Joel should've dealt with their (first, second? Can't remember) goal better too. The back line is increasingly becoming an area of concern and after tonight, I think serious questions need to be asked of the management team about how to fix it. Back four? Wing backs deeper? Who knows. But it needs fixing and fast.
Biggins, I thought, was a bit aimless in the middle too. Too many flicks and runs to nothing to give possession away.
Angus looked sharp when he came on and Quigley was his usual bullish self and took his goal well.
Still don't believe this is a bad side at all, but the system just doesn't seem to be working like last season, especially at the back. As said, for a back 5 with two defensive midfielders, we concede a lot of goals.
Possibly a back four with Kay and James out wide and Quigley in the middle up top??

We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you

I would say there is zero chance of david dunn being sacked. With no income coming into the club how could we afford it

Very, very poor. Always said, though I’ve been ridiculed for it, that Dunn is not the man to take Barrow football club forward. If he stays in charge things on the pitch will only get worse (if that’s at all possible). Hang on to Dunn and it’s inevitable that the club will end up back in the National League next season. He has little or no idea how to manage a football team. His record proves the point. Time for a change of manager.

If we are going to persevere with the 3 at the back you need a brick shithouse of a centre back in between Platt and Brough. Neither Zouma nor Hird inspire any confidence at this level
Anyone know if Hardcastle is back anytime soon? Lack of legs in midfield really showed tonight, first half especially
