Where has our Identity Gone

Post by Awatson56 » Tue Nov 24, 2020 9:29 pm

 When David Dunn was appointed, Hornby made it clear our club now has an identity that was created from the work Ian Evatt has carried out.

Where has that gone?? He tried to play all his signings, clearly an EGO situation. Now we are back with Jason Taylor in midfield that was pretty much out the team under Evatt due to his lack of technical ability.

David in his first interview for the club made it clear that it was his way! Despite what the chairman had just said.

We have signed players on big money and clearly the correct checks were not carried out.

Why won’t he put Angus and Quigley up front together. They scored 30 plus goals in 33 games.

We do not have an identity, that’s gone, the last 2 years down the drain.

His EGO is incredible...the guy is clueless

Thank god for Southend. Only need one other team to be worse than us!

They also had Rooney, Hardcastle and White in midfield which was a lot more attacking/creative midfield than Taylor, Jones and Biggins

Yeah that. I think Taylor and Jones have been good together in the roles they're there to play but they lack a third man to link the midfield and front two, controlling the game, passing it around the park and consistently turning in performances.
We're missing a real playmaker at the moment in the middle. If we're going to play with two workhorses we need that creative element to make it work. At the minute (my opinion only) it seems players are fitting the system, rather than the system fitting the players we have. Eg. Luke James runs all day and often ends up out wide anyway. Why not go with James and Kay out wide feeding Quigley and cutting inside as they so often do from wingback and centre forward/cover everywhere beyond the halfway line?
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you :scarf:
