Yeah, I guess. I realised about five minutes after posting that my "all opinions are equally valid" stance isn't really logically defensible. After all, you wouldn't take my opinion over that of a structural engineer if you were building a new bridge over to Barrow Island.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:59 amLet's just say, for Desmond2-2's sake, that playing at a higher level does cut some ice. Mark Boyd's opinion yesterday (and, to be fair, he has played at "a far higher level than most") was that all 3 in midfield did exactly the job they had to do. Nothing spectacular, they just grafted and worked as a unit to stop the Port Vale threat. But maybe he's wrong and Adam should have someone else sat by his side who has far greater insight into the game.Arvo wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:22 am
But this point about Biggins has been made here over and over. But highlighting it by starting a new thread 30 mins into a match we were winning is at best churlish and at worst mean-spirited. And your claim to the authority of "having played at a far higher level than most" doesn't cut any ice, either. All opinions here are equally valid. Even this one. Even Pedro's.![]()
But then, I'm sure Mark Boyd wouldn't resort to, say, "Well, I played over 5,000 games for Barrow and almost scored at Wembley" in the event of him having a tactical disagreement with Adam in the commentary box. It's all a bit "Do you know who I am?". And my point about the redundancy and meanspiritedness of the thread stands.
