Certainly not pulled up any trees and he’s definitely had the odd shocker but he seems to work hard and looks like he cares. Think he has a decent right peg. Two managers both believe in him so he must have something.

Kind of reminds me a bit of Andy bond - who was terrible in his first season but then came good. Let’s see what Jolley does with him.
Won’t ever be fit enough to even lace Andy Bonds AstroTurf trainers, never mind be as good as him

Why at a time when we all need to pull together, are you all picking on one player. Unbelievable.

because a certain group of "fans" posting on this forum are Trolls and/or are Intellectually challenged - they have absolutely no interest in supporting the team and it's players.
I'd put 8-10 posters on the "Foe" list in the 2-3 months before Dunn left so i didn't have to read their posts - I unblocked them all when Dunn went to give the posters a chance - but 5 of them are already on the list again - they aren't Barrow fans - in fact the only thing most of them seam to be fans of is their own ego....
Most real fans on the forum know exactly who the posters are - just block them all - it makes things much easier.

Well put and good advice, maybe it’s worth adding it to the pinned topic at the top of the forum. Pretty sure we’ve all met WUMs in our lives at some point, give em a smart phone and the internet and they’re like a kid with a crayon.

Personally think Biggins has improved, there’s been mention of Gribbin but from the minutes he has had, he didn’t look confident or lacked concentration, Jolley has mentioned 2 players he has coached now play in the premier league, maybe he can get the best out of him

I read a recent newspaper article by former Stoke star Wayne Biggins regarding coronavirus. He said it had devastated his family. His mother-in-law died of the virus. At the time of the article his brother-in-law had been on a ventilator for nine weeks. Both he and his wife had suffered as had his son Harrison though thankfully not as bad. Not using this as any excuse but surely an example that footballers are human with similar problems to the rest of us. Too many fans seem to think they operate on a different planet.

One of them is Josh Benson who was on loan from Burnley at Grimsby. Made his full Premier League debut yesterday and has made a few sub appearances this season. The other, I believe is Burnley's Dwight McNeil who is now an England U21 international and before yesterday had played 71 consecutive Premier League games. Jolley was highly rated at Burnley with the under 23 team. Good coach.

Although 24, he hasn't had a lot of football league experience - only 33 appearances in league 1 over two seasons, after stepping up from 3 or 4 divisions lower. If we were winning regularly, I think people might think he was doing ok. With results as they were, some fans needed to find a scapegoat.

I am not banking on Hardcastle suddenly transforming our midfield. I don't have anything against him, but we haven't seen enough of him this season to judge whether he can adapt (as so many others have had to do) to league 2 - and, of course, it will take time to get match fit. I would expect Biggins to continue to play a part, probably for the remainder of the season, though possibly not an automatic first choice. If Kelly and Jolley are happy enough to select him, that's good enough for me.

My final point on the matter because it's dragging out into a battle of opinions.

I wholeheartedly hope Harrison Biggins can be another John Rooney. Showed nothing of note for a long time but then became an integral part of a history making side and has continued to be top drawer at his level.
I hope the new management can spark something in him (and the rest of the squad) and he can show us all just why the management kept faith with him. I hope he can have a successful career, wherever that may take him. I'm not in the business of scapegoating or character assassination. My opinions are formed (rightly or wrongly) from what I see on the pitch (see points about Harrison and Hindle). I want EVERY player who pulls on a Barrow AFC shirt to do well, as I'm sure the vast majority do.
Up to now, the verdict is "must do better" for me (and there are more than just him in that bracket, but the thread was specific). Just because I have an opinion doesn't mean I'm not willing him to do well and I sure as hell cheer him on and back him on game days.

All that said, I'd like nothing more than to see him put in a stonking performance tomorrow night and show us all what he can do. My opinions are based on performances, not the person or perceived personality or any of that kind of thing. I'm more than willing to change that opinion if performances warrant it.

So, as people seem think this forum matters and influences players attitudes - come on Harrison, we're all willing you on. Show us what you can do.

Again, I find myself in total agreement.

The binary distinction people make between supporting the team and having a negative opinion of one player is too simplistic. Just because I think Biggins is a poor footballer who hasn't shown me anything to warrant a place in this team doesn't mean that I don't want the lad to do well. I would love it if he played amazing, scored a hattrick and gave me the middle finger whilst doing it. Great.

However, (as Barra Marra says) based on what Ive see of him I simply don't think he is good enough. Now, the rest of the midfield is a problem and he may be better suited if he played with different players/formations but that is all hypothetical on the evidence I have to hand I make my judgement.

I am happy for others to disagree and I respect their opinion. Surely the whole reason we come on a football forum is to read and discuss a variety of opinions. Good, bad and ugly etc. etc.
And on the 7th day god created football

Everybody is entitled to an opinion, but we now have a new management team in place.

It is their job to assess, accept or reject players, so let's give them a chance to do their job.

Ship out those who they consider not to be good enough, and bring in players who they think will be better.

We can have opinions but it is they who will make the decisions so I suggest we bring this thread to a close and let them get on with it. :)
