Evidently Tom White was a big player for us last season and Evatt liked him enough to take him to Bolton. He now can’t get a look in after starting the season for them, maybe he’s just not good enough for this level or else he’d be playing.

Or maybe Bolton have a much better midfield than we do? From the games I've seen I would say that only Hardcastle would have any chance of getting in the Bolton midfield and only Quigley would have any chance of getting in their side as a striker whereas I doubt if any of the Bolton back 5 would get into our side.

Tom white got injured beginning of October playing for Bolton. Not as bad as first thought but was out for 6 weeks.

Sometimes moves don't work out for players, doesn't mean they are shit. Rooney was written off before we signed him now the best player in non league.

This report only a couple of months ago suggests to me a permanent move is highly unlikely and if the competition is Salford for a loan we've no chance (Unless of course Jolley is a massive influence). Interesting to note the involvement in this game of Ollie Younger who I thought was one of the more impressive pre-season trialists rejected by Dunn.

If we are in competition with several teams in this league for players that doesn't mean they wouldn't choose us. Obviously depends on the contract (length, money, relegation clause, the Manager) We beat a few teams for Platts signature. Also if a player isn't getting a game at his club or doesn't even have a club then who would turn down regular football and money ! - we play good football, we are picking up points and not only that you play really well and probably get a better contract at end of the season esp if we are safe from the drop and "bigger clubs" will be watching all players in every squad so a possible move is also on the cards. Jolley will know who he wants so i can see a couple of ins and maybe outs happening in the next week esp with the teams we are playing in next 2 weeks !

I wouldn't get fixated with our location. A lot will go on how we look after players etc, word will get around on this from current /past players, and I think we do that pretty well.
The finances and league position may effect things, but we have to trust the board and new manager in persuading targets its a good move

Couple of lads at decent teams but not sure if any of them are what we need (2 defenders, 1 in lower league and 1 with no club) lads at Oxford and Blackburn might be ok

Not sure how far I believe Embleton is a realistic option but this lad is a different level to what we have at the club at the moment. I know a few lads in the Newcastle and Sunderland set ups and both thought really highly of him. He would be a great addition although I will believe it when I see it....etc.
