I think fans have a right to be worried, 4 teams are cut adrift with us been one of them, relegation is a real possibility and would be devastating if it happened, people have been saying keep the faith, we have the makings of a good team etc for the past 5 months yet we are still in the same positionJohn_Bucks wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:35 pmYay! Some sense!Cromwell58 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:14 pm All football experts, Bradford have not been beaten in 7 games, we played ok and should have got something out of it, we have the makings of a decent team but not according to the doom and gloom merchants.

Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
and in most of those games how many of the opposing teams actually created some good goals? I'd say at least 75% could and should have been avoided, we could have the best midfield in the league but this cannot carry on and I can't believe we still haven't rectified this !Paulmichael wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:47 pmI think fans have a right to be worried, 4 teams are cut adrift with us been one of them, relegation is a real possibility and would be devastating if it happened, people have been saying keep the faith, we have the makings of a good team etc for the past 5 months yet we are still in the same position
Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
I really feel sorry for a lot of fans who have waited so long to see barrow back in the real football league ,we only look on top when we are a goal behind,
Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
At the risk of being labelled a "doom and gloom merchant" I was really disappointed with that. They had Danny Rowe up front on his own up front, the slowest striker in the league and we went with a back 5 and defended deep. Platt was shunted to left centre half for a young kid from Burnley who looked out of his depth. Brough moved to left wing-back so we could hit unsuccessful long high diagonal balls to him. Eardley barely crossed the halfway line all game and we had no width at all. Modern day wing- backs should be athletic, fit and up and down the line all game. I was disappointed with the way Jolley approached this game and hope that we are a bit more positive in the future, the subs livened us up so hopefully going forward they can have an impact.

Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Not saying in any way people aren’t well within their rights to be worried, we all are. I wasn’t even a twinkle in my Dad’s eye last time we were in the football league and it would of course be devastating to go back down, on almost every level... But, the manager is new, the calibre of signings is much better than in the summer and a game with a one goal swing isn’t the end of the world!Paulmichael wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:47 pmI think fans have a right to be worried, 4 teams are cut adrift with us been one of them, relegation is a real possibility and would be devastating if it happened, people have been saying keep the faith, we have the makings of a good team etc for the past 5 months yet we are still in the same position

It is if it's not the first of the season!John_Bucks wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:09 pm a game with a one goal swing isn’t the end of the world!
We can't keep saying we did well as we only lost by one goal!
Our ambition has to be way above this!

It’s a reset for us; it’s all about what we can achieve from here on in. It hasn’t started well but the club has done all it possibly can to save the day. The rest is up to MJ and his team.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Who said we played well?? We've definitely played better, we’ve also played much worse. This forum is just on self destruct at a heartbeats notice. And what about the new players being slagged off after ONE GAME. ‘The mediocre seven’. Really great motivation from their own fans all that.holkerboy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:14 pmIt is if it's not the first of the season!John_Bucks wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:09 pm a game with a one goal swing isn’t the end of the world!

They can see us in the football league next season; surely even with our useless government crowds will be allowed back in then

Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
We now have the makings of a good team, we just need to gel & cut out these silly errors. Bradford are a good side. We’ll be fine.
Thought Biggins put in a very good shift today. Couldn’t understand the logic of (imo) one of the best Centre Backs in the league being shuvved out to Left Back today however.

I didn't! Read my post properly!
Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
At the end of the day we can only comment on what we see before our eyes and yes than can differ somewhat slightly between individuals.
I think Josh Kay has the makings of a very good player at this level but needs obvious help in controlling his frustrations at times, but he’s not on his own there!
We still lack an out and out leader on the pitch for me and have done for most of the season!
We are in transition under a new manager and it might take a few more games before we have that cohesiveness we need.
Still yet to see a really good side in this league and that’s the frustrating part for me because we can live with most sides in this league and the gulf is just consistency in doing the basics right, and game management. Now it’s down to the manager and his team to make sure we start to do just that!
All the trepidation is understandable from us supporters in covid isolation but our dream should hopefully live on into next season and at some stage we can actually enjoy our promotion.

Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Unless things improve beyond belief, I can’t see us getting anything from the next four games either. And if today’s game proved anything it’s that we need another striker. Bradford signed two before today’s game and they had an immediate effect. We can’t limp from game to game hoping that any goals Quigley might score will be enough to win a game.
