Frustrating for all concerned after all the effort gone in to this, but what more could the club have done? The club put hours into the prep, covers down on Sunday. Does make you wonder though if these covers are actually any good.

All comes down to cost you can get better but its how much you are willing to spend but even if they came off would have frozen again
All opinions expressed are my own , not here to cause kick off just enact debate.

Well done for trying to get it on, I don't know why people get their knickers in a twist, with these behind doors games and if teams are happy to travel you try and get the games on doesn't matter if you call it off 5 mins before

Sorry to hear the game being postponed after all the work that has been put in to try to get it on.At left it will.give time for injuries to heal and for the team to get to know each other better.Hoping Saturday's match against Forest Green is on,but the forecast for then seems similar to today, so we may facetted same problem then.At this rate I think the season is going to have to be extended. :scarf:

Leyton Orient made the trip to Carlisle before it was called off.
Tonight, Blackpool v Burton has been called off at the last minute because of a frozen pitch so Barrow are not the only club having opposition arriving and game called off today.

Gareth and his lads had been there since early on, they had heaters blowing hot air under the problem area (which were left on even after the other covers had been removed to give it the best possible chance) and another heater even being dropped off as we were leaving. Not much more could’ve been done really.
Also a fantastic response by people to a phone call or text to help remove the covers....which is a very very physical job.

Having said that, and in my opinion there is far too much put on the H&S side of things...even the hard parts of the pitch were far softer than what they play on in the early parts of the season. Would it not make more sense to allow the two clubs, managers & players to decide what’s safe rather than a referee?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Should allow the manager to get the players training to play in the way he wants them to, and hopefully produce some wins and points.

Sc+nthorpe pitch was covered in snow, looked like they had started the game like that, all you could see were the line markings :sentoff:

Exeter staying in a hotel somewhere overnight. No complaints from them. Praising Barrow for all their communications and efforts to get the game on.
