The last two appointments have been the most important in the club's history, and we could not have got them more wrong. When Dunn went it absolutely screamed 'safe pair of hands then start again in the summer'. But instead we appointed someone who is barely a football manager with very limited experience. We are told there were around 60-70 applicants, I don't believe for a second that there were not managers amongst those with real League 2 experience who would have been a much better shout to come in and steady the ship. I just do not see any logic in appointing Jolley, it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Today, how many [SwearFilter] times did we change our shape? Its no wonder Morecambe had so much space for their second goal as nobody knew where they should be! John Goodwin made a great point early second half. Eardley went to right centre half, but Hird could have done that job to the same effect. That scenario is repeated all over the pitch, we have not improved at all and have arguably got worse.

But what can we do now? Changing managers again now could well be counter productive, so instead we are stuck with a manager who clearly has no plan and does not have a clue what he is doing as evidenced by the fact he changes things every 5 [SwearFilter] minutes.

Depressing stuff being a Barrow fan at the moment. This season is rapidly turning into a nightmare and one I'm not sure the club can recover from should the unthinkable happen.

Couldnt agree more, if only we could go back to pre season and appoint a steady league 2 manager, which was always the right appointment in our position we found ourselves in after evatt left, Dunn was a disaster then instead of rectifying it the board have done exactly the same.
I think they look at evatt and see a young manager who could use us as a stepping stone, however for every evatt there are more Dunns and jolleys, this was the one season more than any other in the clubs history when survival was all that was required in our first season back and no time for a gamble.
Unfortunately 2 dreadful appointments will put us back to where we started and for many fans like myself the quest to see Barrow live in action in the football league will continue

Them few games we were allowed into we showed more than enough imho that we could stay up; he didn’t tinker to much with the formation or personal. We’ve spent a fortune in January and don’t bring in the two players we were desperate for (a goalscorer and a tough tackling centre mid) and literally haven’t got a clue what formation we are playing; must have played 5/6 different ones just during the game today
As Kieran said we’ve had two opportunities this year to get a safe pair of hands in and haven’t taken it twice. On paper Jolley is the man you’d have taken to first replace Evatt but now.......

I'd always say give the manager at least 10 games, but the players we've sold our soul for, and the huge regression in just six weeks or so means I have to agree - get him out now and let the players sort themselves out.

Yep means eating a bit of humble pie but so be it! Would have Jason Taylor and Josh Lillis involved too. Needs a players meeting with the board and brutal honesty from all. We are in such a mess and need to throw the dice and hope!

It's becoming more clear to the day that the personnel on board (through no fault of their own) don't have enough knowledge for the playing side of running an EFL football club - surely someone with a football background is what was needed in the CEO position? That's no criticism to the current one as he's no doubt doing the job to the best of his ability.

disagree through no fault of their own ? of course it is ,the alarm bells should have been ringing after the first few weeks of the season! they should have done their due diligence on managers before appointing Jolley, as they should be doing now for life in the National league, looking at the top 6 team's there and if needs be taking / approaching a top manager, whose won / got team's promoted out of that league!we have to start being ruthless footballs changed dramatically over the last few years we need to adapt and adapt quickly!

Just listened to Jolleys post match interview on RC and he was quick to point out that the attitude of the players was not right, his job to get those players wanting to win games.
He mentioned how we had only won 2 games before he arrived........ he should not be looking backwards but forwards. You could tell he was angry and I do think he needs more time, but if he can't motivate the team he's not a football manager
