Which is exactly all that we needed before Dunn and Jolley brought in about 20 players between them! The first crucial mistake was not offering to give Rooney a 3 year contract and double his wages to keep him and the second was not spending more money on no more than 4 GOOD players we needed instead of squandering it on lots of players who were either past their best or not good enough! The problem is that we were lucky enough to have a good manager last season who has been replaced by 2 mediocre ones. Just watch how Bolton are moving up the league now that Evatt has control of bringing in his own players. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they end up in the playoffs.
Rooney is nt that good mate just to let you know if he was that good he would have 300 league appearances its an obsession this for some with this lad we have brought in 30 players not up standard so far 2 transfer windows quit this bullshite excuse train southend played with kids for half a season and are in a better position than us take your glasses off
All opinions expressed are my own , not here to cause kick off just enact debate.

“Regardless of how good our football is, we need to look and play like a team so we will speak very openly on Monday. I will put my views across and the players will have an opportunity to put their views forward too.
Why's he waiting until Monday? Should drag them in for extra training tomorrow.
Do you really think an extra day of training will make this shower any better ? It's a like giving a hundred lines to a school kid. They do it, but are still the same little shit the next day.

The board should meet Jolley (then the players) and tell them in no uncertain terms that today's "antics " can't say performance was totally unacceptable, this might have an effect because as professionals the majority should be ashamed!

Unfortunately, I feel that at least two such players are on furlough.

Do you think he will take away any of our duds? ;)

He was player of the season scoring 19 from midfield and countless assists but yes, you keep telling yourself he wasn't that good. He was pivotal to the side and the way we played but we never replaced him. It was fed to us that we needed a different type of player to work in midfield in league 2 and we bought into it, but it was obvious from the first 5 games that we missed that midfield creative player and we couldn't play it through midfield the way we had done the previous season. That was the biggest player recruitment mistake in summer.
Now that whole side and approach to the game has been broken down. 27 games it has taken to go from an attractive footballing side to one that is scrabbling to try and get some sort of way to get a win from somewhere.

From the premier league down it is highlighted how fans not attending is affecting results etc. I accept it has some bearing, but as a professional footballer you should be able to play with or without fans so I personally don’t accept that as an excuse.

Managers get blamed too easily most of the time but in our case it is his fault. No idea of team selection, formation, players brought in who are shite, etc etc, but the biggest blame has to go on the board for their two inept managerial choices.

I can only see relegation, gutted I may not get to see Barrow play in the league.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Cheers Adam, nice to hear challenging questions put to the manager, it’s definitely needed (25 mins in for anyone who doesn’t know)

fully agree with this and yes we needed new players in january but 4 quality players would have been better than 9 , of which most of them aint better than the ones they replaced . a top forward was required but obviously young lad from bournmouth does not fit the bill otherwise he would be playing

Quite right, Barrow should be 24th on performances like this, and that's precisely where we will be from March 16th (or whenever we play Grimsby) if we don't improve rapidly

With fans at home games we won 1 drew 1 and lost 1 but had several chances to score in that match so I do think for a team like Barrow, fans at home games would make a slight difference

we all know that but if you were a good player would you move to a club in our position facing relegation and putting your future on the line,,especially if you have a family?
no you wouldn't, so we're left with players who either have been injured or out of favour, people need to understand we're not the big club in this league and have not a lot to offer! so it is what it is no matter how people dress it up we're in a desperate situation!
while we're discussing players who actually recommended them and agreed to their signings? because if it was Jolley why isn't he playing them?

The quid pro quo is that because other home teams would be lifted our away record wouldn't be quite as good. Oh, hang on....
Don't let the old man in.

Just listened to the interview and something that struck me was the way MJ was hinting at players not doing their jobs and the first half being unacceptable etc etc. It was like listening to a manager who had been at a club for a few years with the club now on the decline results-wise. The fact is they’re mostly his players and they’ve only been here a matter of weeks...how can you rate a player enough to sign him and then a few weeks later blame him/them for not doing their job right?
Another bizarre episode - he recently brought a striker in, where is he? He puts him in the stand one week, plays him off the bench the week after and now he’s disappeared.
We only needed a decent midfielder & perhaps Eardly, after that Jolley should then have concentrated his efforts on finding the best striker available, surely by not signing another seven players (nine in total) the extra cash could’ve been used to being in the quality needed, not wasted on a lad he obviously doesn’t now rate.

It’s all very very odd.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
