Scott Quigley has called for fans and players to stick together as The Bluebirds look to respond to derby defeat to Morecambe and fight to climb the League Two table.

The front man’s second half goal brought Barrow level at The Progression Solicitors Stadium only for The Shrimps to grab what turned out to be the winning goal just 60 seconds later.

Quigley said he and his teammates would be giving it their all between now and the end of the season to turn things around and sent a plea to supporters to stick with them.

Quigley clearly gives a shit though, which is possibly what leads to him trying to do it all on his own sometimes.

That was a powerful interview from Scott I really like the guy. Like a number on here I've supported Barrow since the 1960's. And we've all seen just about everything in terms of highs and lows. Just like, I may add, many other fans from many other clubs. What's hurting the most is that after 48 years we can't see or support the team and the obvious fact is that for us older supporters we may never see the club in this position in our lifetime again (I sincerely hope our younger fans get the opportunity to watch is in the EFL again - hopefully next season). I think we must be honest with ourselves that promotion came as such a surprise after never really being a contender in the non-league for the ultimate prize & then because of covid we had to wait so long for confirmation. Scott conveys that point really well in the interview. He understands that and judging by Jolley's interview he does as well. And before I get slated for that listen to his interview as well and then make your own judgement.

I have my own views on things just like everyone else and they are elsewhere on this forum but they are merely that my own views. I really thought we'd do something positive today but Morecambe showed us one thing we are not - a team in sync. As Jolly said we played football as individuals and it is his job to get that right. We Barrow fans are a very passionate lot. I'm 60+ years old and I'm hurting like mad tonight. I know I should know better but that is me. But one thing that serves us no purpose is the slagging off of just about everything that happens. We need to leave that until the end of the season. I have no idea of the finances of the club or the thinking behind furloughing players and bringing so many new faces in during January. We cannot control that. it has been done and we all have to live with it. What I think we should do is get behind the club/team and support them (as a number of contributors have said). We can't go to the games obviously but we can be more supportive on this forum as I'm certain people in the club and the team obviously come on from time to time - it's only human nature I guess. I got the impression Scott is very aware of the situation.

The vitriol on here at the end of each game is bordering on the absurd and the trouble is some of the statements are just crazy and dare I say it plain wrong and create massive negativity which is the last thing we need. I know what I say will fall on deaf ears and there will be people who will continue to slate everything that is going on. It is obvious that a few want us to fail god knows what but that type of person has always been at the club and, I reckon, at every other club in the country. One thing is certain those people do not seem to offer too many alternatives that just seem to enjoy being mostly anonymous and negative. I can't do anything about that obviously. But if some of us learn to calm down and support the club and team then at least we won't feel as angry. If we do go down I will be upset (to put it mildly) and depressed as the next person but it won't stop me supporting the team my grandad took me to all those years ago. I will still drive up from south Manchester on a regular basis to watch games and come and do my bit as a volunteer when I can.

19 games to go lads if we do stay up I intend to get really really happily drunk and then enjoy being on Sky again and all the other benefits of being in the EFL. If we don't do it I will be hell to live with at home for a while but will dust myself down and support my beloved team as I've done for 60+ years. Just remember finishing 22nd would be as good as winning the league wouldn't it?

Thanks for going to the trouble of laying it all down there, Andy, it's a brilliant, heartfelt post. I'm not sure if the passage of time has faded things just a little but yesterday's painful watch, and our recent losses, seem to feel even harsher than the events of Spring 1972, maybe because this current run is coming so hot on the heels of the brilliant football and sky-high hopes of less than a year ago. I would be more than pleased if we can emulate 3rd from bottom as we did in 1972 as it would mean safety this time around! It's good that Scott Quigley has spoken up and well done to him for that. Scott has been acting up all antagonised in a lot of recent matches but you have to have every sympathy for him as he has badly lacked the support of another out-and-out finisher to share the burden up front, not to mention the lack of supply from midfield.

Brilliant ? The guy and the team need to man up and stop feeling sorry for themselves im sick of hearing we feel for the fans get out there on tuesday and kick everything above grass height and show why they deserve the shirt
