Oldham v Barrow match thread
Re: Oldham v Barrow match thread
I can't imagine I was the only one who was all Johnny Kidd & The Pirates in those last few minutes due to a combination of the tension, excitement and sheer disbelief at the impossible Lazarus-esque scenario that was unfolding just days after our most recent shambolic showing. Nearly an hour on from the final whistle I think the nerves are just finally starting to settle down.

Dont know if it's been said, but what a good defensive performance against a side that's knocked a few goals in, great to see a clean sheet. On a high for the Bolton game, we would have taken a few supporters through there.

5th clean sheet of the league season. Three of those coming in Rob Kelly's four games.
*EDIT: corrected from 4th to 5th

And who was in charge of the team at that match? KellyIl Metronomo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:18 pm It was definitely Quigley's best performance since Port Vale away. Looked a threat all night. Devitt did great for the goal.

Agreed but don’t underestimate Jason Taylor- he’s a winner and a good playermickycarrol wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:38 pm The reintroduction of Jason Taylor for me set the tone before kick off. The bloke will be first to say he isn’t the most gifted but by Christ he will run through brick walls for the cause and that in turn spurs those around him to do likewise. Banks had his best game by far which is no coincidence.
Made up with tonight everyone of em were superb BUT this can only be a start it’s o to Bolton next, same attitude and fight again pls every game now is a cup final.

Oldham have conceded more goals than any other team, so not surprising that we managed to score 1 (actually 2)
But they also have 3rd best scoring record, so it was surprising that we managed not to concede a goal.

Congratulations to Rob Kelly and the team, a fully deserved win tonight. Our heartfelt thanks must also go to the board of directors, l was hoping that Jolley would be removed from the managers role but never expected them to show that level of ruthlessness that was needed in a final attempt on their part to ensure our league status. They have now done everything in their power, it’s now down to Rob Kelly and the players.

Great result lads .. Something to build on now ... I want to be visiting Holker Street next season still in League 2.
Well done to staff , players and directors alike for positive moves.
