Vic Brownbill and Big Ted have sadly passed away. Ernie Smith and Graham Mutton stopped going. Ernie volunteered a lot of his time during the dark days helping out with electrical work. Another i am unsure of is Vic Rogan who had the memorial place in Highfield Road. I think his son attended to.

Can anyone remember a rather loud but, seemingly nice guy called 'Dodger' who used to board the supporters bus in the Greenodd area?.

Yeah, I have seen that name 'Dodger', Matty-but the 'Dodger' that I recall from the Greenodd area was knocking on in years back in those days and I just wondered if anyone had any memories of him because he seemed to be a bit of a character.

I worked along side John Murray at the shipyard and we shared a taxi to work after night matches. I remember Ernie Smith.Terry Kendall, Peter Steele and Tony Hutton were among the regulars at that time

I first met Dodger at a match in 1979. He rode a moped from Sparkbridge. He died a few years ago.

I always remember a bloke who used to shout out " we want a referee " everytime there was a decision that went against us. He seemed a genuine nice guy. He had glasses and used to stand on the Popular Side near the Asda end. I first came across him in the seventies when I went to matches with school friends. To cut a long story short I hadn't attended home matches for a few years due to living away and I found myself at a game in the early 90's. Lo and behold the same guy was stood in the same place looking a little older shouting the same thing. Like I've mentioned he seemed a nice guy who was just following the club with a passion. I haven't seen him for years. Does anyone know who I'm talking about ? If they do would they pass on my best wishes because the passion he had for the club made many a dire match more enjoyable.

The guy outside the press box who would shout "Lets have a goal, Barrow!"
Don't let the old man in.
