Teams around us will be very worried about our games in hand.

Never thought I’d say this but if fit Platt doesn’t get in the team on current form for me. Defender has looked superb and Davies marshals it superbly

Long shot but in theory, we can actually catch Stevenage in 15th. 8pts behind and 3 games in hand.

Re: Cheltenham Town (A) match thread
We now need “just” 15 points from our last 13 games to stay up. We couldn’t have even dreamt of that situation immediately after the Morecambe game
Re: Cheltenham Town (A) match thread
It'll surely be less than that - Southend would have to get 20 points in 11 games to reach that mark. Somewhere around 44/45 should do it.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 10:40 pm We now need “just” 15 points from our last 13 games to stay up. Long way to go yet, but beating league leaders who would’ve honestly seen that coming a few months ago. Don’t think anyone is getting carried away but after the dross served up earlier in the season it’s great to be cheering after the wins at the moment and long may it continue
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Wow. Thats all. Just wow.
Re: Cheltenham Town (A) match thread
Don't think I've ever seen two such bizarre goals in the same match. I was worried at half time after the battering they gave us in the first half. But they never came near resuming the same momentum in the second half. Great defensive performance.

Kay will be a cracking player when he grows up...I’d give him another contract with a pay rise but with penalty clauses for Yellows for decent not Yellows for challenges...Might focus his mind better?

He’s been a class act in his last 4 games for us & a real quality player in the making, Did he pick up a knock? Seems to be injury prone, Hope the lad can overcome them as Quiggs has.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 9:53 pmNot sure how Ntlhe managed to clear the one he did either; proper backs to the walls Barrovian spirit in that first half especially. The effort levels now are absolute chalk and cheese to what they were under JolleyBakewell Blue wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 9:31 pm the goal line clearance by Neil Eardley was absolutely brilliant.

That’s because Rob saw the writing on the wall & changed tactics to suit & they never had a sniff in that 2nd half, Simple effective tactics, Oh the joy.

Re: Cheltenham Town (A) match thread
Finally we have a manager who can organise a defence with every player knowing his job and getting into position. Second half was much better particularly after Devitt and James came on when we started to pass the ball better as well as defending properly. Whatever Jolley's faults, he did us a favour bringing in Davies, Thomas and Banks and with Davies, Thomas, Platt, Jones and Nthle we have almost certainly the best set of central defenders in this league which should see us safe. Davies had a superb match again as did Jason Taylor.
