Guy's name was Dave Woodcock - Ex Navy, worked at BAE for years till he retired. Sadly, died a few years back from cancer I think.
Big, friendly character, used to stand with a group of us in front of the press box.

Yes-thats the guy ,Lowick.
I had forgot about him coming to games on his moped-a real character.
I have enjoyed reading this thread and various peoples memories of a time gone by.

Thanks for that. You hear these voices. And then you don't hear them anymore.
Don't let the old man in.

Does anyone know what has happened to Tony Hutton. I was in the training school in Vickers in 1971with him.He became an electrician and used to help out at the soccer a lot.I used to see him at work but haven't seen him for a few years.I think he was a regular in the Crystal Palace pub.

I'm pretty sure Tony is still around. Often used to him walking in town with his shopping. Dont know if he still goes to the footy though.

If Tony Hutton is the guy I think you are on about-I think he works regular nights in the yard and his watering hole is the White Lion.
If it 'is him', I think he attends the odd Tuesday night match.

Tony stands with us most weeks, he's on 3 on 3 off so only gets to just over half the matches during a normal season.
The main thing is that he's fit and healthy but unfortunately has still got a soft spot for Liverpool.
When the lockdown's over he can get back to the White Lion & Greengate.

I remember John Little. He used to work in the GMS where I worked..I think he went into the entertainment industry. When the Hairy Bikers first appeared at the Forum he helped organise it and appeared alongside them.He then was a presenter on Abbey FM which was above the market. I think he now lives abroad possibly Spain although I wouldn't know whether that was true or not as I heard it off someone who told me they thought he had moved to Spain.

@Reginald - a massive thank you for such wonderful memories of my dad. I've just found this thread and it means so much to me and the family to know that he - John Murray - is still remembered. Some of my early memories are being with him at the football, home and away, and - when he was working on those floodlights - staring up at him as the scuttled up the pylons! Later on I helped him in the shop at the ground.
If any of you are at the match on Saturday please listen out for the ball sponsor - on behalf of my family we are sponsoring it in dad's name.
I only get back to Barrow every so often and live overseas now, for the first time in about 30 years I will be there on Saturday and would be brilliant to hear more from some of you, especially if Phil Yelland is around - I remember him!
