Re: We are staying up.
Lot of interesting league one fixtures on Tuesday though; keep an eye on the bottom end and see who we will play next season. Wigan away would be a great day out

Re: We are staying up.
Tommy if you’re offering me the six points from our next 5 games I’d be happy to lose the last two. That would mean that two Fromm the bottom three would have to reach 50 and even I don’t think that’s going to happen.Tommylad wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 3:23 pmBet you we dont take more then 6 points from now until the end of the season.Cromwell58 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:49 pm

5/6 cup finals for grimsby and southend who are still to play us. We'll still be in that mix come the southend game.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 3:38 pmTommy if you’re offering me the six points from our next 5 games I’d be happy to lose the last two. Well let’s just wait and see Tommy. Grimsbys cup final on Saturday is against Bolton; Southend’s is away at Exeter. Colchester are at home to Walsall. That’s before you factor in our two game
Funny thing is to me, despite their abysmal results, Grimsby have the best squad of the three and they are furthest behind. Colchester who are closest however look to be weakest. So it is probably logical to focus on Southend.

Bit of a strange one. At least you waited until flamboyant Phil Brown had taken his tan and cravat to Sarrffend.
Though I’m not sure putting junior management in the job is likely to change much at this point.
As for Cooper, he no like us; we no like him. In fact nobody that has ever managed, played for, or even lived in the vicinity of Kettering should be considered for the job - assuming it’s available.

That rules out me and Sean Dyche then!

What form have Exeter hit?andyg wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:13 pm This sort of thread makes me nervous. Even when I was playing we never felt we were totally safe until we were totally safe. Football or any sport for that matter has an ability to hurt you when you least expect it. Am sure RK, the background staff or the players certainly don't feel we are there yet. I know RK will be making sure that message gets across to everyone. Exeter, unfortunately, appear to have hit some form and are already talking up this match in the press right after their great win at Cambridge. Its going to be tough like the rest of the games we still have to play. We must not give the teams below us or for that matter immediately above any glimmer of hope if at all possible.
Before beating Cambridge on Saturday they had won 1 drawn 1 and lost 4 of their previous 6 games.

Re: We are staying up.
Exeter are a very good team going forward. They have Bowman and L2 player of the month Jay. If you give them space and allow then to get behind defenders, particularly out wide they'll kill you. Cambridge went behind early and then determined at half-time that they were going to come forward and attack. They were then picked off pretty mercilessly. Hence the scoreline. Tactically they got it wrong.
Before that performances had been very patchy. They've not always prospered against defensive/counterattacking sides and that might suggest how we would try and match up against them on Tuesday. Not unlike playing against Carlisle or Newport. So difficult but not impossible.

It's the talking up of the Barrow match by their manager that interested me. As Suffolk Blue said we need to be mean horrible and deny them space and keep in the game otherwise they will pick us off. Saw the highlights of their Cambridge game and they are a skillful outfit playing very quick neat one two's. Yes Cambridge got it wrong on saturday. We must try and stifle them. I'd love a clean sheet please last time was Cheltenham.saltcellar wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 7:34 pmWhat form have Exeter hit?andyg wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:13 pm This sort of thread makes me nervous. Weve got to stay up, I've chipped in for part of the flag that needs to be displayed at the Holker street end when we are mathamatically safe.

An asinine thread. Not safe until it’s over, and it certainly isn’t yet. Platitudes to whoever should be saved until it is, if we stay up.
