Barrow v Exeter match thread
Re: Barrow v Exeter match thread
Exeter were no mugs but what they tried tonight just didn’t pay off. Certainly helped having Tom Davies back and everyone putting in one heck of a shift.
That game will have taken a lot out of us tonight, would be happy for Rob Kelly to rest a few on Saturday. Ready for the final push!

Agreed.SayitagainSam wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 7:31 pm As per usual, excellent commentary by Adam and analysis by John. You might not always agree with Goody, but at least he has opinions and expresses them. Their words add a lot to the entertainment value to the game. I appreciate that we have them compared to listening to several away game commentators.
Adam is well-prepared, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Goody is straight, says it how he sees it, talks a lot of sense and has great throwaway lines.

Poor old Exeter.
Travelled 1316 miles for no points.
Great performance tonight.
Not a vintage one, but a gritty one.

Nothing better than reading the fume unfold, starts off so well with nice discussion about the perfect sunny weather and the tactics required to beat such lowly cloggers.Bakewell Blue wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 10:01 pm The Exeter City forum is in meltdown tonight.... they can’t understand how they beat Cambridge so well but lost to “little” Barrow on what they see as a ploughed field! I am more than happy for teams to underestimate us, it works for us. Our pitch doesn’t look great, but Colchester’s looked good and was bobbly as hell. And any criticisms of the ground, then they should realise how lucky they have been over the 48 years we have been out of the league, with all the money that brings. It has really struck me on iFollow just how much investment some grounds have had while we have struggled in non-league. Well done everyone!
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Massive shout out to Eardley, KG and both Taylors - the amount of shouting. talking and communication from these 4 during the game is incredible. They demand so much from the team, really keeps them focussed

Thanks to KG or NG whatever he goes by, I really like this lad, Always looks like he gives his all & here others were static & he made sure he got there first & cleared then took a whack...If he stays injury free, He’s got to be signed up again next season....Don’t know his status FYI.

Fully agreed & I bet it cost a small fortune paying off Dunn then Jolly & bringing in another 9 players was it, So financially expensive but......We’d be down & out without it, So doffs cap to those who pay for everything & Hope we stick around in L2 for a few seasons as we build the club up, Slowly & steadilyHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 9:40 pmYep, massive credit to the board. Would have been very very easy to say we’ll give Jolley another 3/4 games to see if he can turn it around by which time we’d have been in real trouble. Paul Hornby said the board would do everything they could to keep us up and to stick with them; they’ve been true to their word

Well done Barrow , can see the the light at the end of the tunnel now , Southend and Grimsby both have hard games at the weekend so l could be drinking a few more beers! Three managers , covid cancellations and no crowd l think you've done brilliant in the first season back. FORZA BLUEBIRDS. Flying High.
