We don't have a flag pole---well we do but it is a horizontal laying on the ground flag pole. Hope that idea doesn't catch on.
I miss walking down the road and seeing a flag flying on match days.
Job for the summer that one Elaine.

Didn't we used to have a flagpole?I seemed to remember walking towards the ground after we won the FA Trophy in 1990 and seeing one fluttering over the ground on the corner of Wilkie Rd and Holker St.I think it used to say something like Barrow AFC FA Trophy winners 1990with the colours of the club behind the letters I think it was still there after we won again in 2010.The club used to put it up when we were at home.

Seems like we always had a flagpole historically, usually displaying the league we were in at that time e.g. Northern Premier League. Maybe not.
Good thread this, I like the work done and frankly, the optimism. With the flagpole just lying there I was tempted to make a smutty remark involving a flag featuring the Viagra logo but I won't lower the tone.

There was a flagpole in said position during the late sixties, if not before.

Flags along the Crossbar roof would look good and make the building look a bit better. Also if it was cladded. I know- money needs to go elsewhere but it would make it look a bit less like the back of a fag packet early 70’s carbuncle it is. (Complete with added artex trowelled swooshes) We are always trying to bring the ground to a better standard.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

The original one was blown down during a gale a couple of seasons ago. Probably the same time that part of the main stand roof went
Good news Whitty if it is going to be put up in the summer.

Those were the day's Zak. How are you doing mate. Long time since those crazy days on the bus.
Keeping well thank you, GT. Looks like we're going to be watching Barrow in the Football League next season, if the team and the virus keep heading in the same direction. It'll be my first time as I didn't get to any of the trial matches in the winter, so that's something to look forward to. How are you doing?
Hanging in there ! Looking forward to seeing many old faces in the fan zone one day and reliving the old days. I think it's your round 😉. Sorry it took a while to reply. ps have you broken any pub windows recently 😆😆🍺

Rob Kelly doesn’t want it until it’s mathematical we are safe. Think after what he’s done for us we can respect his wishes on that one little thing!

Makes sense, as people know, footballers are a superstitious lot, as the saying goes “act in haste, repent at leisure”

Absolutely spot-on.

After what the man has done for us let’s have a bit of respect for what he wants. It will be up soon enough if we carry on the way we’ve been doing.

Just be patient.

if we win on Saturday and Grimsby and Southend lose then they need to win every game, us lose every game and have a 25ish goal difference swing - so it could be up for the Port Vale next Tuesday - but maybe a grand unveiling at the Southend game would be better

We need a Swingometer.
The club knew this might happen but again they are slow to react to (Cont. Pg 94)
