I agree but aren't a lot on contract ?that worries me a bit !
Somewhere, a while ago, someone (Adam?) posted a list of who was on contract.

Here:

https://www.barrowafc.net/viewtopic.php ... ct#p458264
looking at the list put on here for voting for "Player of the Season" we have 33 players signed some will go at the end of the season but a lot we are not sure what they are on.

It even occurred to me he’d been got at by Southend; he missed too many fouls by them including on Banks just before the second goal. Having said that we just weren’t at the races . Sloppy at the back and in midfield.

We’re going to need a second goalscorer next year , more energy and creativity in the middle and another centre back. And a new pitch ! Lots to look forward to !
I thought he was really inconsistent. Early on, he seemed to be letting quite robust challenges go, then by the end he was booking people for nothing. Clear foul on Banks before Southend's second goal, too, which he let go.

It's just been a massive learning curve on all fronts, hasn't been the most enjoyable season on record, but the good news is I get 20% off next seasons season ticket.

We stayed up. With all the managerial shenanigans I think we’ve done as well as we could. ( yes I know we all wanted more) A massive learning curve for our owners, probably an expensive one too, but we are still a league club. Which is what we wanted for all those years. That’s just my opinion. Barry Pos. P.S. enjoy the Summer boys and girls as it’ll be another Rollercoaster next season.

I am afraid Joel dropped another clanger, like the goal scored against him from the half way line.
Cannot remember the goalkeeper Ady Pennock brought in I think he ending going to Shrewsbury.
You expect a goal keeper to get beat but these two mistakes and the one were he kicked against the Harrogate player last season and it went in.
Needs to get his act together.
That's the trouble with being a goalie - there's no hiding place.

People point out all the mistakes but fail to see the fabulous saves he's made.

Outfield players make mistakes all the time - which is why we only just averted relegation, but those mistakes are forgotten or brushed over.

Give the bloke a chance, and recognition for the times he's kept us in games and earned us points which helped to prevent the drop.

Agree with holkerboy - Joel has saved us a lot more than he's cost us. Goalkeeper mistakes will always get highlighted more than those by outfield players as they usually lead to goals.

The keeper Pedro mentions made two bad errors in one game vs Hartlepool. Can't remember his name.

The keeper Pedro refers to was Steve Arnold but think if you look back we weren’t happy with him. and he made mistakes like all keepers dp.
including Premier top lads including Allison at Liverpool, Pickford England, Ederson Man City and all others who are 100 thousand pounds a week as witnessed on sky and MOD every week
It was only last week Joel made 2 great saves against FGR, but that was last week and forgotten about

Quigley had very little to work off and he has had to battle hard to create his own chances in almost every game, drifting right across the park and coming deep. We have very little creativity through midfield and it is the one area above all others that Dunn failed to fix last summer and hence we couldn't play the way we had under Evatt. We are unrecognisable from that side now and if we want to see us get back to being an attractive side that is where we need to recruit. We still need the steel of Taylor, but desperately short of creativity
Spot on. Last season we had the best midfield in the NL by a country mile. We controlled possession in almost every game and our defence was seldom under pressure. Our wingbacks, Barry and Kay, played like forwards whereas this season they have had to play like defenders. In Rooney we had the most creative player in the league and in Whte and Hardcastle we had a couple of terriers who were quick and could get around the pitch. This season we have the worst midfield in EFL 2. In almost every game we have had vastly inferior possession than the opposition (today was one of the few games in which we had more possession 54% to 46% but that was only narrowly against a team also with a very poor midfield). I don't think Quigley has played anywhere near as well as last season but he is playing on scraps in most games and has still managed to score 15 goals in a very poor team. If we can sort out the midfield and get another good, quick striker signed next season could be decent. If we play with the same squad (almost certainly minus Davies and Thomas) we will be in another relegation battle.

Today was just poor from a few players but it could easily be we are safe so not try as hard. Im just hoping we put a decent performance against Exeter next week just to end the season well.
Definitely need Kelly to sign up or get a new manager in asap to assess and sort out the players. For me a few have to go and we definitely need 2 really good midfielders and a decent striker. It says a lot when our left back is second top scorer !

Well this has left us right in the shit. I can't see where we will get the 3 wins required.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Don't think anyone doubts he can be a good shot stopper but he's not commanding, there is a clanger/ball spill or a walk about just around the corner and in all honesty he's not big enough.
Decent Nat League keeper but that's it for me, sorry.

Quigley deserves a medal ,he had to track back alot ,to get the ball and he also defended quite a bit.
We were all aware we were missing a decent midfielder beginning of the season and nothing was done.
We saw when the ball was put through today he scored.
If we had a decent midfielder I think Quigs would have had nearer 30 goals.
Imagine if he had been injured this season, we need another striker.

Joel Dixon is taller than Jordan Pickford, Dixon is and will become a top league goalkeeper so chill out we stayed up and kick-off again in the Football League in 14 weeks, all Bluebirds are Blue.

You also have to factor in that this was the way Evatt wanted to play. The stamp he put on Barrow’s game has also worked at Bolton whilst it was drilled in to us that it wouldn't work for us at this level.
