Keith Hill
Has been sacked by Tranmere on the verge of the play offs. Think if I was the Barrow chairman I would be on the phone to him pretty soonish.
Re: Keith Hill
I'm a Swindon fan and I'd take him over Robbie Fowler tbh

Re: Keith Hill
So Swindon fan - when the football press stops talking about what the EFL is about to do to whup Derby's ass, the chatter seems to mainly about the financial mess at your gaff and speculation about fines, points deductions etc. for next season. I heard some pretty horrendous stories about the debt that Swindon had accumulated to get into L1 and that would appear to have been borne out by results. When Wellens went to Salford it was obvious that something was very amiss. Even before the pub landlords best friend Sheridan was appointed.
As someone who as a boy attended the last (home) fixture with Swindon, I'd really like to have a chance at making the County Ground next season. I do hope there will still be a Swindon Town to play against.

Re: Keith Hill
I'd be a bit disappointed to think the board had been sitting on its collective hands for the last 4 months waiting to see who might get sacked in May.
Don't let the old man in.

Re: Keith Hill
.... by the way has Desmond decided that Keith Hill is the man or should we start a new thread for every candidate?Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 1:26 pm Has been sacked by Tranmere on the verge of the play offs. Think if I was the Barrow chairman I would be on the phone to him pretty soonish.
Re: Keith Hill
God no please. Listen to his last few interviews for tranmere, clueless. There's better out there if we need to go looking... IMO
Re: Keith Hill
Keith Hill has done very well with Rochdale. Other places it's not been so great. His win % for Rochdale may only be 39% but that includes seasons in L1. I'd imagine people in the game will perhaps now be less keen on Hilly than before as he's yet to really produce away from Spotland. That said taking Tranmere into the play-offs is not a terrible outcome.

Re: Keith Hill
Don’t understand what you mean. But the board won’t have even thought about the next manager until they knew for definite which league were playing in next season.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 1:52 pm I'd be a bit disappointed to think the board had been sitting on its collective hands for the last 4 months waiting to see who might get sacked in May.

As long as the phone call was "don't even think about applying for our job".
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: Keith Hill
I would take a look at Neil Ardley (former Notts County manager) experience in this league plays decent football, ticks all the box's!

Re: Keith Hill
Don’t think so Nige, he was pretty average at best with the wombles then took county out the league. He’s also southern based so a definite No!
Re: Keith Hill
I'd sound out Peter Atherton. Aye, he may want to take on L1 with Evo but I'm sure he'd also like the chance to manage.
Re: Keith Hill
True, Dunn had all the right ideas just couldn't see them through.. Hence Rob Kelly continuously mentioning him. Listen to Hills last few interviews and read what the tranmere fans think of him.. Comes across as very arrogant, not a fit for us.
