Re: Pre season friendlies
Lancaster away; hopefully on a Friday night but probably on a Tuesday
You’d like to think we’ll have sorted a game v Blackburn to raise money for Lewis (or a charity of his choice or something)

I would guess holker old boys as Rob Kelly said they had been helping us out letting us use their ground for training when place we were at had at some stage a poor surface. We really do need to try and get a decent place to train that is also geographically in right pls remove for majority of players.

Workington away
Re: Pre season friendlies
We should avoid them like the plague.
When Vaughan pulled the plug and we managed to stay up but the Conference demoted us,they lobbied for us to be relegated down two leagues.
Talk about kicking someone when they are down.
Radio Carlisle had the representative of Workington think it was the Chairman spouting bile about our predicament .

How about, Holker away, Lancaster away, Blackburn home, Glasgow Rangers home, fc Koln away, Benfica away, sporting Lisbon away finishing off with Leeds United at home.
Re: Pre season friendlies
I always think it would be good to have some competitive games pre season like the Lancashire cup. A few fixtures with something riding on them . Anyone remember the Cambrian cup in the 80s.

Re: Pre season friendlies
yeah - we took that really seriously - we got to the final and from memory we played Brockbank (our 2nd choice keeper) as a striker for at least part of the match.
Lancashire;- born and bred

I quite like Workington. Helped out in their hospitality room when we played them. Brian Keen's face was a picture when I walked past him delivering plates of food and took his order.

And don't forget Carlisle never lifted a finger to help us either.
Re: Pre season friendlies
But is it fair 20+ years on to blame a club for the decisions and opinions of its custodians and officials at that time? Most if any of whom are probably no longer involved . What about the clubs who voted us out in 72?mall wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:00 amI agree with you there Pedro. Never forget.Pedro wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 11:14 pm
