Of course not! Just comes across as petty.

I agree with you there Pedro. Never forget.
And don't forget Carlisle never lifted a finger to help us either.
But is it fair 20+ years on to blame a club for the decisions and opinions of its custodians and officials at that time? Most if any of whom are probably no longer involved . What about the clubs who voted us out in 72?
A Foolish man forgives and forgets.
A naïve man will not forgive or forget.
The wise man forgives but doesn't forget.

So I forgive them.

I don't think we need to play Lancaster we are now a league club and should be looking teams at Least National League and above I would like us to form some sort of arrangement with Preston, I have always been puzzled why we don't seem to have any link-up with them at all in pre season.

We should avoid them like the plague.
When Vaughan pulled the plug and we managed to stay up but the Conference demoted us,they lobbied for us to be relegated down two leagues.
Talk about kicking someone when they are down.
Radio Carlisle had the representative of Workington think it was the Chairman spouting bile about our predicament .

Yep while the likes of Kettering and Morecambe backed us.
I like the quote Forgive your enemies and remember their names

It is primarily about gaining fitness and increasing intensity gradually as they go so it doesn’t really matter who we play within reason. As long as we hit the ground running when the season starts!

Exactly this
On the same reckoning that your saying if playing Lancaster is beneath us now (3 divisions lower) then surely it’s the same for a premier league (3 divisions higher) or championship side (2 divisions higher) sending a team to play us

When we were a Unibond team we would have wanted football league teams to visit us for pre season friendlies.....

I thought we were behind those days of playing the likes of Lancaster & Workington in friendlies.

Surely we can organise games against opposition with a bit more credibility, considering we’re a Football League side.

Surely we can but surely we shouldn't adopt the 'European Super League'-type attitude of forgetting where we have come from?
