So Swindon fan - when the football press stops talking about what the EFL is about to do to whup Derby's ass, the chatter seems to mainly about the financial mess at your gaff and speculation about fines, points deductions etc. for next season. I heard some pretty horrendous stories about the debt that Swindon had accumulated to get into L1 and that would appear to have been borne out by results. When Wellens went to Salford it was obvious that something was very amiss. Even before the pub landlords best friend Sheridan was appointed.

As someone who as a boy attended the last (home) fixture with Swindon, I'd really like to have a chance at making the County Ground next season. I do hope there will still be a Swindon Town to play against.

The club has always been absymal at communicating with fans, especially under Lee Power. Apparently a survey the other year placed us down with Bury and Macclesfield on the engagement and we all know what happened to them.

Re Wellens - I got the impression that he was covering himself in case he got sacked or thinking we might go bust. This was at the start of the season when who knows what could have happened to EFL clubs - you could easily have foreseen a situation where a club went bust and there was a domino effect where other clubs didn't even have the iFollow money they were expecting from their game against a club who resigned/were kicked out of the EFL and half a dozen clubs ended up collapsing (and, of course, the more clubs who went under would have left more blank days in the fixtures). Even points deductions for missing payroll during the season would have finished clubs off - it's one thing to go to games when your club is definitely down because of a points deductoin (e.g. Luton went they went down to the NL, Peterborough in the 60s) but it's another to pay a tenner to watch a game on TV when your team is definitely down. Wellens seemed to thinking the Town were in trouble and that he'd be better off at Salford - even if they ended up sacking him at least he'd get paid up.

Actually thats a very good point Litefoot. The discipline maintained by virtually all the EFL clubs in terms salary payments in the face of an incredibly horrible financial situation this season has actually been very good and far better than perhaps we are used to seeing. Clearly the potential effect of defaulting on these payments combined with the EFLs tougher automatic points deduction policy has had its effect on reluctant owners. Can only be a good thing of course as it stops owners "borrowing" from their staff. But it will put more pressure on their own pockets.

As a Bolton fan - firstly congratulations on your brilliant season. Secondly - don't for the good of your football club go anywhere near Keith Hill. An absolutely awful bloke who will within a few short weeks have you all tearing your hair out as he makes everything all about him.

Tranmere fans seem to be of a similar mind about Hill.
"Brilliant" is not the first word that comes to mind but 'eventful' certainly and the fact we are still here after it is a cause for celebration. If only we hadn't let in that last-second goal against you guys. Next season will be better.

Think Carlisle are the only club I’ve seen so far who haven’t released loads and loads of players. Going to be a heck of a lot of players still looking for clubs as the season starts
