It's not Kelly...
Re: It's not Kelly...
Evatt is restructuring his Management team so Sam Hird may well go which I hope he does.
He along with RK did a good job.I cannot see him getting the job at Barrow and if Sam goes good luck
There are a lot of clubs looking for Managers and Managers looking for clubs let's hope we get the right one
Footballs funny Chesterfield must have been kicking themselves that they got rid of Evatt a total unknown who is managing the snakes and ladders game of football quite well.
I think we will see players moving for what they see as bigger clubs but next season is awaiting, not sure we will get back in to see them with the way COVID is going.
Start the season with optimism

We do have to remember that the strange thing about football is that people get sacked a lot and then quite quickly get a new job,
Jose Mourinho has made a career out of it! Gets a new job, has a decent season or two, then starts to go downhill.
Club sacks him, and each time he walks off to his next job with a multi-million pay-off. Must be well over £50M now.
He's really got it sussed!

Thank you Rob, not only for your heroics this season, but for displaying that increasingly rare quality: Integrity.
Good luck, whatever the future holds.

Mourinho's got nothing on John Sheridan for getting it sussed. Eleven clubs in ten years. Just hope Barrow AFC isn't number 12 on the list.

Thankfully people didn't waste a load of money on a stupid flag or something.

Re: It's not Kelly...
Where has this fetish with Hird come from?
Manager at Barrow.
Bolton want him as a coach.
He was a poor defender this year and is nt up too league 2 , what would make a league 1 team want him as a coach. Or am I missing something. It was Kellys experience that kept us up. Hird was simply a sideline cheerleader really.
Dont believe everything you hear in the shipyard toilets lads.

Evatt is getting to create a new structure at Bolton and I could see him getting a offer,I hope so for his sake because if a new Manager comes in he could be let go.
We saw Byron Harrison signed by Evatt and they had known each other from Chesterfield and he was not the player he was since the injury against Lincoln the first time here.

What evidence do you base this on? Hird was clearly a big part of the coaching team involved in our turn around from where I was looking.PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 5:43 pm Where has this fetish with Hird come from?

Kelly's experience as you put it also got us into a shit position in the first place as he was heavily involved in both management regimes which were absolutely diabolical.

Re: It's not Kelly...
Funny that in his 2 spells as manager his selections contributed to us actually winning games. Kelly knew Hird was nt up to playing for us with his mistakes. So gave him the hype up sideline role. He was furloughed for a reason. Hird was nt picking the starting 11 Kelly was hence why Kelly was offered the manager role not Hird.Managers role id far superior to coach.Steeley wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 6:44 pmWhat evidence do you base this on? Kellys experience got us out off the mess the physical football worked.

Re: It's not Kelly...
Interesting point. Suggests a coach/assistant has very little impact on results. Dunn/Jolley had their own ideas and Rob was perhaps reduced to putting the cones out and doing the training i.e. tactics, line-up, subs etc all down to the manager.

I’d hazard a guess the way he speaks about DD he was heavily involved in things then.
Under Jolley less so

Alex Ray Harvey looking to get into management. Could be a good stepping stone for him. Will go all the way that lad.

Re: It's not Kelly...
It has been mentioned that at Chesterfield people thought Hird would be the guy to make it as a manager above Evatt so they were wrong but Hird has only just finished playing and could make a good manager one day just too early for us at present ive always liked Gerrard from Borehamwood but don’t think we would get him to come northPerthBluebird wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 5:43 pm Where has this fetish with Hird come from?
