Jonty I see where you're coming from but FGR can afford to get things wrong, we haven't got that luxury we have to stabilise if that means boring then so be it ,we haven't wasted 48 years to F*** it up again you need to move on mate and drop the idealisms till we are in a more settled state!

Im not suggesting going for an inexperienced Manager again. Right now we do need experience. Just pointing out that doesn't just mean doing enough to keep us up. That, has been expressed many times by PH is not how the board thinks (last season not good enough) and there is no idealism or setting unrealistic aims with striving to build a solid football team, but also in having a good footballing identity / vision for how we play at the same time.

I suppose it comes down to our respective league positions next season's end, in order to reach a comparison between Mark Cooper (assuming he is your new coach) and scientific type coach now with us.

Whoever it is, (Mark Cooper then great and we will back him all the way) it is very important from the off that they set the bar. There are many different views of what good should be for Barrow, and I think herein lies a problem. Our identity, the perception of Barrow and the many different views of what good looks like for us.

Evatt- “You should come to games and expect us to win,....do not settle for mediocrity” - Fans- yep ok

Dunn- “We’ll have a go, but you know, its a big step up, some of them might not make it”- Fans- yep ok

Whoever we get in, That person sets the mindset and expectations of the fans from the very first interview.

if it's mark Cooper I've no doubt he won't accept anyone not performing we need someone of his calibre to get us back on track!

Just watching the pre first match (Stevenage) interview with David Dunn, and a horribly pitched comment from Mark Simpson about us being the bookies seasons underdogs, to be fair fielded as best he could by Dunn. He must have really thought- here I am doing my best in this new job and this fellas pointing out to me that we are the seasons underdogs. But with hindsight, i remember watching it and it sent some alarms ringing as I was expecting a confident reply, and from that moment I felt we had no expectations other than to stay up. This is why from the next Manager I want to hear right form the start someone who absolutely believes that he and this team can take us up the table and put the little Barrow thing in the bin.

Really hope it's not cooper sounds like a complete [SwearFilter] by all accounts. Could be just as bad as jolley.

Cooper was a decent league player and has been a successful lower league manager. Jolley was a no-mark gobshite. There is no comparison.
