If Barrow go onto become a solid EFL club over the next 10-15 years then we should never forget Kelly's Heroes. To overcome Michael Jolley and David Dunn was truly a heroic effort.
Agreed.

I’m not criticising fans’ efforts - as a fanbase we do some meritorious stuff - Ground Maintenance, fundraising, etc.

Next season, there’ll be a new manager and mostly a new squad. The flag got one use. If you look at it objectively, it was a waste of money. As said above, hopefully we can at least make some use out of the material.

Why can't the flag stay up? Don't see why it matters that Kelly has gone.

Just thinking towards the transfer dealings ahead. I really think Mark Cooper has inherited a decent group of players and with quality additions i think we can be planning a good season. Think we all know midfield creativity was a problem area for us. Not sure who provided most assists from midfield but seeing Quigs drifting out to the right and dropping deep to pick up the ball was frustrating. This was surely down to that missing link up play of Rooney/White/Hardcastle that worked so well the season before. Looking back on early season, it was obvious that we had lost that midfield dynamism and we were struggling to create and adapt.
The first signings coming in will give us an indication of the draw of Barrow and Mark Cooper. Hopefully Paul Ogden is working his magic in the background and Cooper agrees its what we need.

With Paul Hornby indicating an increased budget then we should be looking up the table with marked improvement

For me
- hopefully resign Dixon and another good proven keeper
- think our defence is ok.
- the best central midfield pairing (attacking) we can bring in.
- fast paced forward who can head
- one or two Ogden potentials
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Keep hold of it.. there will be another Kelly along at some point I'm sure. Or save it for the museum

Depending what formation Cooper wants to play we need at least two centre backs and a right back/right wing back

Wonder if any of the players morecombe (congrats to them , any chance of a pre-season friendly AWAY?) release could do a job for us?

I hope we are going to send some sort of congratulations to them as they did when we got back in the League.
Let's hope we can match them next season and see another club from LA postcode promoted.

Jonty, I can't see us having an increased budget than what we have been paying with 30+ players on our books.
Our May payment to players must be frightening.
Hopefully budget to be Competitive and top half.

First thing is for Mark Cooper to look at the players still to sign, next his players on the books.
I think Brad Barry has tipped us the wink he is off with change of family circumstances.
The good thing is Mark Cooper has only been out of the game a short time and I am sure he will have a idea of players he wants but that will be down his amity to sell Barrow to prospective players.
The important thing is no prima donna's .
Football can be more than money with the right recruitment look at Morecambe .
I am expecting our squad to be finalised within 3 weeks.
Hopefully we can be back in Holker Street for the friendlies.

Wonder if MC will make a move for Chris Stokes captain at FGR last season. He already has two League 2 promotions on his CV with Coventry and Bury. 30 years old would add experience to the back line.

He's already said in an interview he plans to leave a few spaces until late on to pick up some good value
