Fanzone Closed Till Bolton Match

Totally baffling with Euro’s still on , very hazy unclear statement. One step forward two steps back.

Agree with the loss of money, heard from someone who players for woman’s Barrow Raiders that they took in 40k in one night, appreciate we can’t get a big screen and benches on the pitch though, hardly worth it now for potentially one more game

Correct me if I am wrong but hasn’t the fanzone at Holker st been staffed predominantly by volunteers?
Where as the rugby are employing paid staff due to the larger numbers allowed and due to craven park being used on match days for both home and away fixtures.

Dont worry mate some lads at holker old boys have another screen up and are doing it as a side earner they all have full time jobs in the yard. Potential here for missing out on 4 big pay days. The fact draught is still not set up either is beyond a farce. We have had a great pre season so far in other areas. This area is definitely a room for massive improvement dont we have a full time lad sorting this out now. Also the gap between the end of the euros to the bolton game is 2 weeks. What improvements take this long to do. I thought we where set up good to go?

It does say in the message from the trust that the events so far were test events and now it is over to the club to iron out the rest of the details, including draught beer and proper staff, not volunteers.

England may very well win on Tuesday but if they don’t then it’s all over so the time spent to get it ready for the new season surely makes sense? Rather that than gamble on a win, then be late for the season giving people more things to moan about.

Income loss is a shame but the rest makes perfect sense to me.

Not to bothered a hevent used the place, but the first two times it opened were the test events wernt they.

Also it's always good to do as advertised I find.

It also says volunteers required. Getting enough to volunteer their time for a 5:00 KO on a Tuesday would be no easy task.

I’m very surprised at this. Yes, these past few games on show have been run by volunteers, which were being called “test” events but the test even was six weeks ago. So now it’ll be handed over to F/T staff who will basically be starting all over again. How can that be right?

Doesn’t make sense.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Is the new hospitality manager on holiday? Seems daft to say the least that Raiders are taking a fortune at England games and we are going to be taking nothing

Yep, very strange decision. Even if England get beat on Tuesday surely the takings from one night are better than absolutely nothing.

Perhaps some moaning would like to volunteer to assist these events .

But that’s not the point Anne, the reason we had the test events was to iron out any potential problems that might arise, saying it’s now the club who will be running it at the Bolton game without being involved in the trial events just doesn’t make sense.

It’s definitely a baffling decision.
