Got to admit, my first reaction on seeing the team sheet yesterday was “Where’s Quigley?” Do get the feeling he is moving on. If he hasn’t travelled to Scotland then would say he is on his way.

It may not be Bolton. But it would be inequitable to think that a legal framework that might allow a player/his agent by some means to engineer what in effect would be a breach in his contract with two years left to run and without penalty on said player could not overcome a clause in a former managers exit terms 12 months after they were made, provided that both parties were in agreement. I imagine you could could simply issue an addendum to the agreement or just agree to set it aside.

Probably subject for another thread...again. But football contracts (ignoring agents) generally involve two groups (clubs and players) each of whom wishes to impose restraints on the other whilst maintaining their own freedom of movement. There is very little genuine good faith in the business.

Well may not be Bolton but contracts can be breached.
I had a affidavit signed by a person who lied and I proved it.
If someone is in breach of contract a negotiation will take place as unlike the Germans litigation is expensive. In Germany a percentage of what's being argued about is deposited and legal fees are capped.
To much to go to law.
It's about selling your labour as was shown by Dixon and that has to be fair to the player.

One other point. We seem to be turning this into a Scott Quigley thread. Perhaps we need to start thinking more about Mark Cooper as a manager than picking out specific players. Didn't go to the game but I did detect a rather clinical ruthlessness in the outcome that seemed to me to bear the mark of a Cooper team. Only one game I know but interesting nevertheless.

We have got used to seeing the likes of Quigley as an exception within the squad capable of raising his levels to turn a game. Cooper will place more emphasis on the performance of a group or the squad than on one or two of his players. That's what I would expect if we are to find our way into the upper reaches of this Division. Also that's what I've taken from his acquisitions so far, no stars but players with good CVs that can fit together to make a proper jigsaw. I could quite see one or two egos being bruised in that system.

Having watched yesterday’s game I was excited about a Quigley Zanzala partnership this season let’s hope everything is okay and Quigley is on the Scotland trip.I would also say in these times there aren’t many clubs that could afford 150K in league two or bottom half of league one and Quigs and Zanzala form a good partnership up front,looking forward to seeing some pictures of the Scotland trip with Quigs on them to put all our minds at ease

I used to play football at school with Scott and my brother and his brother used to be best mates back in the day. Scott used to regularly go home and away watching Salop until he got a contract at TNS. Still lives just outside of Shrewsbury so if we do make an approach then I’m sure he wouldn’t think twice as he’s always wanted to play for his boyhood club one day.

July 5th was Monday and a lot can happen in a week. He tweeted his admiration of Steve Cotterill and Shrewsbury town on Wednesday 7th. I have no reason to doubt what Whitby said what Cooper said about Quigley not wanting to train or play. Somethings obviously happened after Monday 5th. I expect an announcement in the next two weeks.

Left out as a precaution said Cooper. Is that a precaution thet he doesn't get injured regards a pending move? Can be read two ways. I think if he doesn't go on the Scotland train camp, that will answer this once and for all.
