Re: HoB v Barrow
According to the Shrewsbury forum,Wrexham have offered the release clause and it’s a three way battle between Wrexham,Shrewsbury and Bolton
Re: HoB v Barrow
I'm not sure. If hes from the Shrewsbury area and in fact is a Shrewsbury fan, it seems reasonable to comment on the club he supports. It's not necessarily a 'come and get me' call to the managerblue nige wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 11:47 amif there wasn't anything in it Quigs or the club could soon put an end to the speculation, it doesn't help with Quigs praising another manager on twitter which seems bizarre if he's "so" happy here !Paul wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 6:55 am Does anyone know if there's actually any truth in these rumours, or has the "story" just spiralled out of control from the first mention of Quigley maybe on his way - which all stemmed from him missing a friendly & not being seen in a few photo's. I'm sure there are others in the squad that don't appear in said photo's.

Bolton aren't allowed to sign any of our contracted players?Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:07 pm According to the Shrewsbury forum,Wrexham have offered the release clause and it’s a three way battle between Wrexham,Shrewsbury and Bolton

Re: HoB v Barrow
Could another club "buy" Quiggs, and then offer him to Bolton on a season long "loan" perhaps?Matty wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:27 pmBolton aren't allowed to sign any of our contracted players?Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:07 pm According to the Shrewsbury forum,Wrexham have offered the release clause and it’s a three way battle between Wrexham,Shrewsbury and Bolton
La lucha continua...
Re: HoB v Barrow
If Bolton are the highest bidders, I'm sure Hornby would waive this agreement - they're no longer in our division and it's not like they are going to raid our team completely now.

Re: HoB v Barrow
yes they could - or could sell him to Bolton after doing a deal with us - but in the case of Wrexham (don't need the money) and Shrewsbury (who he supports) there's no way they would do that.tommy2thumbs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:47 pmCould another club "buy" Quiggs, and then offer him to Bolton on a season long "loan" perhaps?

Re: HoB v Barrow
it would probably cost them a premium on the transfer fee if Hornby did agree to that - as in Bolton's case we don't have to accept a bid that would trigger any release clause in Quigley's contract.

Re: HoB v Barrow
People seem to have overlooked/not noticed that Mike Jones also seems to be absent from the picture at the Largs training facility.
Of the four contracted players missing from the Holker Old Boys game, both Bobby Burns & James Jones are in attendance in Scotland.
If I remember correctly, when MC was asked about any additions to the squad he commented of the possibility of maybe a couple of additions & also a couple possibly moving on.
Could well be he was referring to Scott Quigley & Mike Jones as the movers?

Re: HoB v Barrow
Surely its possible for someone like RC to phone Paul Hornby or someone in Scotland to get a definitive answer. After all ,though not set in stone, the involvement of the Trust in the takeover scenario was supposed to end the 'none of your business' attitude which has plagued the club for decades. There are only two possible answers apart from injury/illness.
Scott is in Scotland with the rest of the squad and all this is rubbish or
Scott is not in Scotland due to ongoing developments which will become clearer in the near future'

Good shout. Im not expecting any additions until the possible two move on. Jones and Quigley appear the two most likely to be moved on.memories of 67 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:59 pm People seem to have overlooked/not noticed that Mike Jones also seems to be absent from the picture at the Largs training facility.

Re: HoB v Barrow
This could happen but as important as Quigs has been to us, I honestly don't see him as a league 1 player.

From what I've heard it's doubtful Mike Jones will play football again.

Re: HoB v Barrow
No, his praise was specifically about the manager, not the club, and came across as a bit of a sideways swipe at someone with, say, a different style.
Our club is not going to make any comment based on speculation on this forum. If there's something to say, they'll say it but expecting comment every time there's a bit of speculation on here is not going to happen - and shouldn't.
Don't let the old man in.

Re: HoB v Barrow
There has been plenty of games when Quigley didn`t look league 2 standard, just had his first full season in league 2, leading scorer for the leagues 4th worst team does not make him irreplaceable if he goes take the money and move on, if he stays just don`t kiss the badge when you score in front of your Favorite fans.
