Quigley Replacement?

Post by BlueNurse » Mon Jul 19, 2021 5:28 pm

I've seen some rumours on social media about Barrow sizing up Jamille Matt as a replacement for Quigs. Some are even saying he was around the squad today. I remember seeing him last season and he was fairly inconsistent, but when he was having a "good run", he appeared class. Scored 16 goals last season. Although, he did mess his arm / hand up in March. Has anyone else heard this? Any thoughts?

Believe he is on £1,100 a week at Forest Green Rovers

Yeah, mega wages that... Would we do it?
I mean, I know it's a rumour!

That’s not a massive amount . Hornby said we could have had him last year but Dunn said no . I think he’s from the North West , so could be a good move

Personally, I think it's a great move, if it's true. He knows the gaffer, his style and nuances... Looking at his "showreel" he looks solid! I genuinely hope this is happening.

Don't think they were in training today so unlikely he was with the squad. Probably just someone making a rumour up

Will we get one? We've got James, Zanzala, Gordon and Sea on the books plus Kay who's been promised a more forward role.

He’s from Kingston Jamaica and has played the vast majority of his football in the midlands

Should have signed Matt last year. Understand he has a year on his contract at FGR. I can certainly see the logic and he may work well with MC. But a transfer fee? Not so sure.
