I think that what perth's saying about the Quigley money is to reinvest it plus maybe a little bit extra to try to get a quality striker as this "new money " was not in this year's budget ( correct me if I'm wrong perth).

Whatever happened to the 'something a little bit special' that PH said could be in line for those extra seats by the way? Never heard anymore about what that may have been!
Probably because he`ll be doing his due diligance , lots to consider, design, how will it impact surroundings, closing road etc, cost -best value etc, timescale needed , planning permission absolutely lots of things to consider ( i`m sure matty bassdriver could enlighten us ).
I believe six months notice has to be given if you need a road closed.

Going off topic here but anything to do with the ground I’m sure we are all keen to know. Wont be popular- but having seen the seats in the away side of the HSE, I think extending the seats right across the HSE would provide a feasible and cost effective solution. We still have a great terrace on the Popular Side for those who like to stand and this could even be improved by reinstating the four front rows that were removed (to accommodate the speedway). I would rather do that than have a mismash of stands either side of the main stand- which one day should be rebuilt full length of the pitch anyway with all the facilities it currently lacks.

Cant think of any other way it could be at the moment, in order to meet the EFL criteria and deadlines.

I’m very sure I read on the report about work to begin soon on the disabled facilities that a seated structure is going to be put at the steelworks end of the ground

That's a lot to get done before the first home game!

Adam, I read it as seating for disabled supporters at the cross bar end, not a new structure for general seating. I may be wrong tho.

I know. Let's go for a striker that might allow a promotion challenge and run the risk of being thrown out of the League again, this time for a non-compliant ground.

Good financial wisdom, that.
Bringing someone in will help us stay in the league going up is an absolute pipe dream the foundations are not present at our club for that. I am not saying break the bank but re invest the money. Imagine bringing in a risky free agent does nt provide the goods and off we go down into the national league unthinkable.

Re invest some off the money and pick someone up that can do the job or end up with another Courtney Baker Richards , Luke James and Sea that cant produce the goods and end up with a full years salary. Imagine those 3 combined on wages alone could have paid for 1 good striker.

Maybe there's a deal to be done for an up and coming Championship say, level striker who needs some league football under his belt who might be available on a one season loan deal. In Cooper we trust.

Free agents are usually free due to temperament , injuries or age there can be some absolute gems finding them to play national league was hard enough league 2 is a different situation altogether. You take the risk away with a proven goalscorer that does the job you use data not opinion.

Almost all of the top 10 scorers in this division last season were free transfers.

Re read what I wrote again and have a proper look at your top 10 then 3 usual ticks boxes apply too most.

You were arguing that spending big is more a guarantee of goals - it's not. The freebies are usually (almost always at this level) just as good, you just need a manager that knows what they're doing with them.
