IIRC this has been mentioned some time ago and the segregation fence is so that it can easily be moved. From what I can recall though extra capacity for away fans would only be given if the club were unlikely to fill the rest of the ground with home fans. FA Cup rules are away team is supposed to get 15% of ground capacity roughly 750 for Holker street so might not have any option but to increase the away end capacity by another 100 if a large following of away fans are expected.

The fencing definitely cannot be easily moved. The HSE changes shape as you move towards the home end meaning the fencing, fixtures & gates won’t fit the next column.
I’m not saying it can’t be done but it wouldn’t be easy and not something that can be done quickly.

Besides lack of foresight what stops the club creating a second barrier to be used as and when, Get a local engineering company to fabricate & install at cost in exchange for 3 yrs of free advertising.

Even if we paid full whack, it would pay for itself easily.

In an ideal world we don’t want away fans in the Holker end nor do we want to be outnumbered at home etc but it is what it is & we could be turning our noses up at free money several times per season which could fund this elusive 20 goal striker or destructive midfielder we all want

I remember Luton having the Holker (street ) end , also Hartlepool , i`m with you Mike unless we have sell out crowds common sense should prevail, the club lost out on a lot of useful income yesterday !, sentiment and principles don`t pay bills etc if we want our club to remain at this level , we have to think outside the box and if people can`t see betond this well...............!

I wouldn't be arsed giving up more space for the odd occasion that a team wants to bring more than 600 especially if we weren't going to sell out home end.

I’ve been in the Holker end (st end) well over 50 years. Been shoved from pillar to post over time so not to bothered if we have to accommodate the larger away following 3 to 4 times a year if it helps the revenue. The Hoker st End has never been better. So you got to ask at half time yesterday why did 50% of the home fans leave it and didn’t return the 2nd half?

I don't think they will be able to move around so freely in league games where crowd control and stand capacities will be set. I personally think its the worse place in the ground to watch a game. I gave a go for the two games we were allowed to see last season and you cant see for the pillars, which i still think it was over engineered. There are no facilities down that end and the obstructed views are worse than anywhere else. Saying that, first time Ive heard some chanting from under there with the roof on and it was impressive. Get it all seated and given to the away fans and reinstate the popside terrace steps back to pitch level. That would provide a the solution to the away capacity and the extra seats needed

While you`re on about that Jonty, i wouldn`t have been pleased if i had been in the away end, they had that moveable goal blocking their view !, when all said and done they`re our customers and as a club we need to look at things like this !.

We are an EFL club now for [SwearFilter] sake , non a tin pot non league. Never give up your ultras standing /singing terrace for anyone. [SwearFilter] the money.

I was stood very close to the HSE and didn't see any trouble... A bit of banging on the perspex from the Bolton fans, but that isn't anything close to "trouble". All just bull rumours!
