Expected to see one or two disappear before the window closes, so no great surprise. One of those rather sad stories that you feel in other circumstances might have turned out rather better. He's young enough to resurrect his career. I hope he finds a decent club.

One of our stranger signings. He obviously has ability but why he came to us I just can't work out. It seemed clear he didn't really want to be here. Good luck to him.
Don't let the old man in.

Why sad? Bizarre signing which never looked like paying off at any stage.

Bobby Burns has left Barrow after it was mutually agreed to cancel his contract with the Club.

The 21-year-old joined The Bluebirds last summer following a two-year spell in Scotland with Heart of Midlothian.

The young defender was then allowed to join Glentoran on loan last October only to suffer a broken leg just a month into his stay with the East Belfast outfit.

Burns returned to fitness and has been in pre-season training with Barrow in recent weeks, coming off the bench during Saturday’s friendly against Bolton Wanderers at Holker Street.

However, following discussions with the Club it has now been mutually agreed that the remainder of his contract be cancelled.

We would like to thank him for his efforts whilst with Barrow and wish him every success in his future career.

Good luck Bobby
Another strange signing by DD.
Was never going to make the matchday squad, frees up a wage.
Move on.

Agreed with Whitty a strange random signing by DD last year but unlucky with injuries so best wishes and might do well working for bbc sport in Ireland but as far as barrow afc are concerned it’s one wage off the wage bill but more importantly it frees up a squad place that would be more beneficial to us with squads of 22 it’s vital to get good squad depth and it will give MC more options

A Doctor writes: People are human beans and as such they have fears and insecurities like any other animal. A person might have a fear of spiders, for e.g. and so to overcome their fear it is often recommended by medical professionals that they are exposed to these dirty, great, hairy beasts, you know the one’s with fangs; we Doctors call this ‘Aversion Therapy’.

So too some footballers have an innate fear of football, and so a Doctor may prescribe Aversion Therapy for such a patient wherby the hapless individual will attempt to play football in a bid to overcome his fear of it. The difficulty with this affliction is trying to find a sponsor as the treatment is expensive and not widely available on the NHS. It must also be stated that the success rate is zero.

How can you possibly say that having never seen him play (possibly aside from a brief cameo in a pre-season friendly)?

He's obviously got something to have played at the level he has and to have been sniffing around the Northern Ireland squad. Along with his injury his problem seemed to be more of a personal one than anything to do with his ability.

Totally agree, don't know how people are suddenly certain he wasn't good enough for us now he's on his way.
Not worked out at all but more due to injuries and personal issues.
