It's hardly miserable whining when one week ago ago someone asked the manager " are you happy with the training facilities" and he replied "no"
And also we have injured players and the club adverting for a physio in the last week. Plus comments by Bobby burns about no physio, plus very little updates on James Jones and Mike Jones.
Glad herbies cleared things is up and all is okay.
But can definitely see why fans would be querying things
Bring on stevenage

We`er "keeping it real " Jim , it`s definately not boring on here ! joking apart i think our forum raises some brilliant issues/debatesJim wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:00 amAnother worry, I will have to stop reading this forum. Good question regarding our CEO. After the cashless debacle he appears to have gone AWOL. Not on the panel at the meet the manager evening despite the club saying he would be. Its all gone quiet from the CEO![]()

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Good friend of mine is a sports physiotherapist here in Suffolk of some years standing. A few years ago he was offered the chief physios job at two (now championship) clubs. He worked out that he could earn more working three days a week in private practice than either club could afford to pay him for a weeks work. We also tend to forget that a club physio is duty bound to be with the team wherever and whenever they travel and whilst lifestyle may be great for a twenty something player its not so good for a man (or woman) with a family.Adam29 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:03 amWelcome to the world of football - these things happen. The days of Maurice Hughes are long gone.

I have a friend high up in one of the major women's super league teams, and he said even their teams are struggling to find physios

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Not a particularly interesting subject, but I think the days of clubs outside the Prem having their own medfical/physio staff on a full-time basis are numbered. Think the sport will move inevitably toward a more commercial model where services are scheduled and supplied under contract from national/regional operators. Inevitably they will pay more for this type of service, but it would enable clubs to remove the cost from the payroll.

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
For the sake of completion, I've received a reply to my email to the SLO re training facilities which confirms the club has agreed a location - he doesn't yet know where - and one with which Mark Cooper is very happy. Hopeful of an announcement fairly soon.
Don't let the old man in.

Seems very strange to me that a club,s CEO wasn't involved in the acquisition of new training facilities.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:59 pm For the sake of completion, I've received a reply to my email to the SLO re training facilities which confirms the club has agreed a location - he doesn't yet know where - and one with which Mark Cooper is very happy. And did he mention where the temporary ones are that they're using in the meantime? In other words, are the old Bury facilities the temporary location or is that the new one that will be available from September or was that a total red herring

I believe at the very outset it was made crystal clear the the CEO would have no involvement in the playing side of the club....hence his non involvement in finding training facilitiesNORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 6:43 pmSeems very strange to me that a club,s CEO wasn't involved in the acquisition of new training facilities.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:59 pm For the sake of completion, I've received a reply to my email to the SLO re training facilities which confirms the club has agreed a location - he doesn't yet know where - and one with which Mark Cooper is very happy. A few years back, I had whiplash, and the insurance paid for 12 sessions of physio.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:47 am

With a now League 1 club physio, at their ground.
Coincidently, arranged through Mark Leather's company.
La lucha continua...

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
I don't see what a deal to lease or purchase some land has anything to do with the playing side and is exactly the sort of thing a CEO should be involving himself in. Whereas what the hell anybody could imagine an SLO would have to do with acquiring some land for a training ground god knows.mr_grey wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 6:57 pmI believe at the very outset it was made crystal clear the the CEO would have no involvement in the playing side of the club....hence his non involvement in finding training facilitiesNORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 6:43 pm
