First home game since Covid restrictions lifted and first home league cup game in forever, would be good to see more than 1500 there hopefully.

1-0 Kay - just don’t see us scoring many goals at present and hopefully no slip ups at the back.

Scun thorpe surprisingly, perhaps, beaten 1-3 at home yesterday by Swindon who most thought would struggle so I'm sure they will be looking for a positive reaction but at the same time hopefully indicates we would have enough to get a result.

Was surprised that Tom White wasn’t in the starting line up for Saturday him and Banks have been our best two midfielders in the pre season that I have seen, with those two we play through the thirds better so I am hoping that he is starting .We are playing a team who have lost some of their better players and are a team I expect to be fighting relegation so I am going for a 2-0 win

Also worth mentioning that the second round draw is regionalised so we could draw the likes of Everton or Leeds but not Arsenal, for example.

It would be nice to get through and get a premier league side at home. Holker Street would be rocking with a full house.

Team News: Barrow v Scunthorpe United

Just now

Ivan Yordanov (MI News & Sport) Barrow defender Matt Platt

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup First Round tie at Holker Street (7.45pm kick-off).

Mark Cooper will assess the fitness of Matt Platt after the central defender was forced off at half time on the opening day at Stevenage with the recurrence of a back problem.

Summer signing Offrande Zanzala is closing in on a return to action following a hamstring problem but the Bluebirds boss must decide whether Tuesday’s game will come too soon for the striker.

Tom Beadling (knee) and Mike Jones (Achilles) are both definitely sidelined, while James Jones is still working on a return to action following injury.

Scunthorpe boss Neil Cox has a double injury concern after two of his players were injured in their opening day defeat to Swindon Town at the weekend.

The Iron boss will have concerns over keeper Tom Billson who was forced off at half time on Saturday, while striker Tyrone O’Neill was also forced off in the first half.

At least we can all read this without falling out, I'm looking forward to this ,hope we get 2,000 .

I would have hoped we would get a 2,000 gate, first EFL fixture with an unrestricted crowd, potential tie against Premier League opponents on the line. Tuesday night under the lights, kids still on summer holidays, what's not to like?
