30 Second Summary of GDPR for the uninitiated.

Most of us are familiar with the Data Protection Act. This was designed to ensure essentially that any company or organisation that held your personal information (Name, Address, Telephone numbers etc) could firstly justify that it had a valid reason for retaining said information, appointed an "Officer" within their organisation to be responsible for all queries or issues regarding access to or use of said information; and were accountable for any unauthorised use or breach regarding said information.

The General Data Protection Regulations were added to (but not meant to replace) the Data Protection Act much more recently. One of the main reasons this happened was that the original DPA did not specify a great deal about the maintenance or housekeeping of data. So a lot of information that was being retained that may have been valid at the time it was captured had become redundant.

So in the context of this thread the GDPR was introduced to ensure that companies actively managed the data they collected including on a periodic basis going back to their customers and asking "is this information still correct?" That is what appears to be happening with the Trust. It does not however affect the validity of your membership of the Trust. I think thats correct.

That's all good and well but as I said in another post when the email goes to your B****y bin its a fat lot of use if you want to sign a consent form you did not know existed.

Ive checked my junk and inbox fully no email with regards too GDPR could this not be linked in when you purchase as a lot off people are going too miss out a key membership benefit here and have no idea about this GDPR

I missed out on a great deal on a penis enlargement when an email went straight to to spam. Apparently there were also loads of shaft hungry MILFS in my area too, which I knew nothing about. Can the Trust offer any advice on my email settings and inbox management? It’s the least I expect for my 10 quid a year.

Just so everyone's aware, YOU WILL NOT have received an email if you haven't re joined the trust for 21,/22 ,I'd left mine until I received the trust update and paid again, it only went to trust members who paid by direct debit !
